Thanks for this. The hardest thing about brewing stout is the amount of time you have to wait for it to condition... properly! I currently have 2.5 gallons of Brewferm Sinister Stout conditioning in the basement.

I brewed an Imperial Stout earlier this year and let some oak shavings soak in the brew while it was resting for three months. Tastes heavenly!!! Will try it for Christmas but will let the main part of it rest/mature over the summer of 2021. Yes, I have an Irish Red Ale on standby in case I get thirsty....

The Homebrew Challenge Hi Martin. (is it M.I.B. = M.K. or Blues Brother) 🤣 I finally got time to make the Russian Imperial Stout👍 It looked grate and the OG ended on 1.105 so close enough for government work 😊 It was oxidize in the transfer from boil kettle to my conical fermenter. 2 back of yeast White Lab Wlp 013 (with expire date in June) was pitched and it is VERY SLOWLY bubbling like really slow, close to nothing.

Not sure if you covered but would like to see you attempt a parti-gyle brew day. It's something I am thinking about doing. I am making a base grain bill to mash for 3 types of beer. Hey martin I was curious do to the kettle I have and the water volume that is needed for an imperial stout. I can only hold 15 lbs of grain. I'd like to achieve at least 9% abv. Or more. Could I use Belgium candi syrup along with a few pounds of dextrose sugar? Not sure if it's a good idea or a bad idea. Not sure how it'll effect the beer so i was wondering what are your thoughts? My grain bill is literally a basic style for a imperial stout so nothing outrageous.

I never liked those heavy, roasted sweet beers. I don't know why. I feel like I'm the only one not finding them super tasty and interesting, but more of tart-ish old coffee beans and even some rust. Samiclaus and Quads however, are different. Maybe because I'm not expected to drink a whole bottle. I think of an imperial stout as being a lot higher than 7.7% abv. Great vid!

Something's definitely off with the microphone in this episode. Too much movement got detected.

So I'm gonna brew a beer, the style guidelines recommend low to high.... But yep. Always gonna go for the low end..... C'mon Martin. Grow a pair. Go all in man. Go full ABV.... Always with the undershoot
