I've been studying the Russian language, history, culture and politics for the past three years. I've made some Russian speaker friends online, also I've made friends with some Russians who live in my town, Sarasota Florida. I was super surprised at how quickly they opened their hearts to me when I spoke their language to them. To a Russian it's a big deal when they hear a non-Russian trying to communicate in Russian. They understand and appreciate the struggle. LOL I love Russian people! ❤

You can be detained for having rainbow colors in your clothes in Russia, this is considered a symbol of an extremist organization in Russia. In Nizhny Novgorod a woman was arrested for 5 days for wearing rainbow earrings (with the usual 7-colored rainbow). This was on 31 January 2024. (Not everyone, of course, would be punished for that, but they speak English in public, which is a risk factor as well.) The foreigners who don't know the local laws/customs can get into trouble. Locals generally feel how to behave to avoid such things (to not provoke those in power), but don't talk about that.

I can remember my first day in Russia.........I had traveled for 48 hours with no sleep from the other side of the world, and I could not get my contact in Russia on the phone.......to meet me at the end of my journey in Siberia. A complete stranger at the airport in Moscow who spoke no english, helped me (almost no russian) figure out that I had the wrong area code and then spoke to my contact about my flight number and time of arrival. Absolute champion.......who at least I could thank profusely in Russian.

I've really noticed the upbeat nice music 🎶 they play everywhere you go. Here in Canada they just play depressing sappy, sad music everywhere. The kids play area is unlike anything in canada aswell. My local town has a 'mall' and there are only 7 shops occupying the place. One of them is a bakery and the other is a secondhand store. The major stores like WHSmiths and Wilkos have shut down leaving massive empty spaces. UK is sooo prosperous. NOT. Almost forgot to mention the main street looks derelict with more buildings sat empty than stores there too. It's almost a ghost town and it looks depressing.

I live in the city center of a large Russian city, St Petersburg, where there was not much land to build large mall since the old buildings are too beautiful and historic to tear down for malls but we do have one that was built about 15 years ago and outside the city center many were built in high rise residential areas. So those living our in the sleeping districts have malls like these so there is less need to go to the city center for shopping. So those living out further have much more convenient lives than 20 years ago. That also had the benefit for the historic city center to have less traffic and continue to have their many small shops on every block. I never needed or wanted a car after moving to St Petersburg from California 24years ago and never having lived in a city before, able to walk everywhere or use the very convenient public transportation really improves quality of life by not having a car and increases social and cultural interaction by 100x at least. I always valued having property and being more self sufficient so my old friends were surprised by my reports of loving city center life. In the US, crime poverty and dirt is the main product of cities with very distinct districts that separated people by wealth and security. But here it i so safe, and everyone gets along, with unlimited access to culture and social activities I find I love it. Any area of the city is a mix of wealth and interests and everyone gets along so walking home from a night of dancing or late night dinner after opera or drama is a pleasant safe thing to do here while back in the US it would be foolhardy and life threatening. That additional feeling of security and the calm it brings makes interacting with strangers or exploring new areas represents real freedom unknown in the US where suspicion is the default state.

There is a cruel fact about Western sanctions to Russia: most of the things you have at home and concider it Western brands are actually not produced in West, but in China, South East Asia, India... So there is literary no problem to get that stuff from countries that actually produce them.. There is, of course, some high technology products taht are indeed hit with sanctions, but that is automotive industry, aircraft etc, that kind of final products, but hit in the sence it is hard to get that brands, for instance, Indian Mahindra couldn't wait for Western brands to get out of Russia for agricultur machines market. But you will see yourself when you start to acqure them, you still can buy, let's say, westrn brand tractor, no problem, but because it is now acquired from third country (country that doesn't apply sanctions to Russia buy them from Western countries and resell it to Russia markat), it loses concurency on market, being more expensive (due to middlemen) than, for instance Indian or Chinese products without middlemen (but of course, the best price would be domestic Russian final product). So either way, being totally absent, or finding some round way to still be present on Russian market, Western brands are losing market big time, and same with food sanctions to Russia in 2014, once they lost it, there is practically no chance for return. P. S. In that 2014. Russia was biggest importer of food in Europe, and thanks to that sanction, today, just 8 years later, Russia is one of the biggest food exporter in the world. That could explain to you why farmers are very welcomed, becuse they didn't even yet scratch agricultural potential of their wast lands... Because Russians figure it out, who control basic necessities --energy, food, raw materials, everyday technologies -- and is able to make them cheap and accessable to everyone, don't need millitary and wars to influence the world.

это игра на внимательность!) особенно когда ведущий начинает быстро диктовать цифры))) если играть на какой то интерес, то вообще детей за уши не оттащишь) очень хорошо развивает когнитивные способности и мелкую моторику у ребёнка. да и у взрослого тоже 😂 мы с дочерью- подростком 13 лет даже вдвоем вечерами играем в лото, она сама просит) а когда к ней приходят подружки садимся толпой играть❤

Лото как и бинго это уже олдскулл полный конечно 😅Сейчас индустрия настольных игр ушла далеко вперёд) у меня у товарища целый сервант настолок...посмотрите что из себя представляет игра "Сумерки Империй" например, где 1 партия может 10 часов длиться 😊 вот надо расширять кругозор и не только на лото/домино/карты/нарды/шашки зацикливаться 😅

The more that I see of Russia, the more I would like to visit. Everything seems to be so much cleaner, especially the fast food places and even the employees are dressed nice. The hyper food stores there look amazing! I could spend all day in one of those.
