Back in the 1970s, Cuba got a specific Russian machines and recipe that would fried these delicious empanadas. They were called Russian empanadas and I was very small when my parents would take me to go to eat these things, and they were filled with cheese ,chicken ,ham, fish spread, etc. The smell was incredible. It lasted about 10 until they were removed from my town. Not everyone on the island of Cuba got to try them. They weren't that fortunate, but I was. I always wanted the recipe and here it is. Thanks The only thing I regret is that my dad died last year and he always dreamed of me finding the recipe and making it for him 💔 😔.

Looks like the 'Niches' an old Russian woman would sell from a paper bag on sands of Brighton Beach, Brooklyn, NY. in the 1970s. Can't wait to try the recipe and reminisce!

Delightful. Back in the time of my grandparents, we Nelsons and other Americans would dine at The Samovar Russian Restaurant in Medford, Oregon; a classy joint with live Russia instrumental music; These pirozhki's were my favorite dish(I'm passionate about potato.) They served a dessert pastry The Napoleon.

I tried replacing the amount of milk with the same amount of water but looks like i have to add more flour when i do that because if i dont the dough becomes too soft and the piroshkis fall apart because the dough cannot be molded. Have you tried replacing one for the other at the same amount and what was the result? Or maybe its that my flour is the problem and i would need more flour even when using milk?
