Great reaction! 🙌 "Another Brick in the Wall" is a song by Pink Floyd from their concept album "The Wall." It reflects themes of alienation, oppression, and rebellion against authority, with lyrics expressing a protagonist's feelings of isolation and disillusionment. The song's anti-establishment sentiment, symbolized by the refrain "We don't need no education," struck a chord with audiences, making it a commercial success and cultural catchphrase. Its innovative music and iconic music video have contributed to its enduring popularity, making it one of Pink Floyd's most recognizable and influential songs.

The whole wall album is a work of art in itself. A story in an album. This song is about how teachers bullying and belittling pupils at school adds another brick in the wall we build around our feelings and how it all effects us later in life

Broadly speaking, this song is a warning about indoctrination over education. The song warns about becoming "Just another brick in the wall". This music video is scene from the Movie "The Wall" released in 1982. The movie is based on the Album "The Wall" released in 1979. Basically the album is the sound tract for the movie. I was in 5th / 6th grade when the album was released in 1979. I remember it being on the radio all the time, but I was too young to understand the songs deep meanings. It wasn't until I was in high school in the mid 80's when I finally watch the movie with a bunch of friends. By then, I was old enough to understand. You need to watch the movie "The Wall" sometime. To this day it is a very, very good movie. All young people need to watch this film as it's message remains universal in every generation.
@keetahbrough
@keetahbrough Жыл бұрын
and MAYBE, one day, one of these generations that *get it* will END the indoctrination of children! Because what use is the messaging when we don't fkn act on it?! When we commit the SAME CRIMES as our parents?

I think you are right how about your assessment of this song. But I think it's more of a protest song about the education system in Britain in the 1960s. At least that's what I have heard. You know the line We Don't Need No Education oh, it's a double negative. Meaning they need education but not this type of education where they are indoctrinating and programming students
@Anonlb
@Anonlb Жыл бұрын
@@robertlongwill8856 top and bottom of the meaning behind the whole album but particularly the wall parts 1 2 and 3 has much to do with the effect of nazism on society now. First theres the fact that as a child he couldnt understand why his father had left until he finds the letter from the kings office thanking him for making the supreme sacrifice. The clue is in the lyrics such as when the tigers broke free. The tigers are obviously nazi tiger tanks. Then beyond that schools were full of sadistic perverted teachers who got off on ridiculing and stiffling any remaining self expression the allready damaged fatherless generation of the 1930s 1940s aftermath. Then mother is about how society especially the male contingent was altered mentaly and how growing up with only the female role model further effected that generation mentaly. The basic theme of the whole album is how the effects caused by nazism back then are doomed to repeat at some near future point. As he gets older and buries his confusion and trauma behind a wall of egotistical narcissism, (builds a protective wall around the unresolved Trauma) Classic symptoms of stuttgart syndrome manifest and he emulates the ideology of those who were responsible for his fathers demise through lack of information about his father because of his overbearing mothers protection from the truth. Basically he knows more about the nazis than he does his dad. So his male role models become the nazis because thats what he knows most in relation to his father. Really its probably an attempt to back what chirchill and also later reagan quoted about the fascists not dissapearing but simply going underground and hiding in disguise of antifascists who wear red armbands . 🤔 Didnt nazis wear those too. But those on. The video look more like antifa. Hmmm 🤔

I actually learn a lot from videos that some people would call entertainment, particularly reaction videos. I watch a lot of reaction channels. After watching 50 or 75 videos by the same person you can develop a pretty good idea of how their mind works, how they think and feel about different things. After a time I can usually predict how they are going to react to songs or videos. By doing this with many, many people from all over the world you can get an idea how people think in general. You start understanding where we stand as people not just as individuals or people from a certain country but as a worldwide community. It's one of the most interesting things I learn from watching KZbin for 'entertainment'.

Most "regular people" (those who are not in power, or zealots), simply seek to live their lives, and want to be "left alone" to do so. For the most part, "people are people, so why should it be that you and I get along so awfully?" - Depeche Mode. I also watch a lot of reaction channels (and have one of my own, but not this account), and I watch people from all over the world. What I said above seems to be consistent with my earlier learnings about people in general.

I've been to many parts of the world. Everyone is mostly curious why we have everything they die for regularly and yet seem so miserable. Not me in particular, just what they learn about us. People are good, friendly, and welcoming everywhere. I think it's when two or more come together for a " cause" , form an agenda, that we begin to become dangerous. Hive mind and mob mentality aren't healthy .

Irina as others have said this song is from both the double album and subsequent movie “The Wall”. That is where the video was taken from and is both live action and animation. Not sure it would be your thing, but definitely a bit strange. Technically this is part 2 of the song as there are parts 1 & 3, however this is the best known part. It was quite controversial when it came out and in fact was banned at my school. My best friend almost got kicked out for playing part of it. Glad you enjoyed this classic rock opera hit. For something slightly newer I would recommend their song “Learning to Fly”. Here is the link to the official video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pIfLf3aKfZ2jetU Хорошо. Спасибо большое.

Being that the visuals is an excerpt from their movie The Wall, and being The Wall album is a concept project and linear story of a character named Pink, almost an autobiography of band member Rodger Waters, it is best I feel to listen to the studio album version first, better yet the whole album in order to understand the background of the song and what's in the video (movie). Here the song basically is a protest of how students in the education system can basically become Another Brick in The Wall when all is said and done and how individual freedom of thought and creativity can be against the system and not allowed in the curriculum.

I don't see a prior Pink Floyd reaction on this channel, did you post it here? This is a clip from the movie version of the song, they did a theatrical live concert performance after the album release as well with huge props in the show. The album was released in 1979, the live concert performances were from Feb 7, 1980 - Jun 17, 1981, this movie came out in 1982. The Who did one of the first rock operas that was also later made into a movie, released in 1969 the double album 'Tommy' was made into a film in 1975. Pink Floyd has some of the most elaborate live concerts ever performed, often with technologies they invented. The '1994 Live at Earl's Court - Pulse Concert' is simply the best, there is a 3 hour DVD of it, but it can also be streamed and you can find recent remastered versions of it on YT. David Gilmour doesn't 'play guitar' he sings with it, sometime literally harmonizing vocals with his notes, the guitar solo in 'Comfortably Numb' and the light / stage performance show is unmatched, it may be one of the longest and best guitar solos ever performed, and the 'surprise' element at the end got the crowd roaring.
