I don't find it worrying other than the possibility that Polish people were harmed. I think it's an opportunity. NATO has a green light to create a buffer in Ukrainian airspace in which they will shoot down all reckless Russian projectiles and/or aircraft with the potential to threaten NATO soil. It is an invitation to create a no-fly zone over western Ukraine.

Poland supported this war by giving 300 armoured fighting vehicles (AFVs), including over 230 tanks and some 110 pieces of self-propelled guns and multiple rocket launchers, amongst a host of other weapon types. Poland also serves the important role of central transit hub for arms donations to Ukraine, and the majority of Western military aid enters through Poland. these weapons are also killing people.poland has added fuel in fire of war. NATO may internally prefer to keep ‘cool heads’ on this - and find a way to accept Russian excuses, or mistakes, or accidents. But, if NATO’s response is weak, the key issue will be how the Russians interpret that ‘weakness’. The Russian mentality on display so far in this war is an attitude of bluster, bully toughness, threats, and a sense of entitlement to smash anybody and anything they feel like. So, NATO may NEED to respond VERY strongly in order to convince Putin that NATO’s ‘red lines’ are not to be toyed with.

As an opinion from someone who understands Putin and Russia, Putin is probably willing to now involve NATO who themselves well understand that NATO would only get involved to the extent that NATO forces would push Russia out of Ukraine and not start a broader war. Then Putin can claim in front of his people and those in the world who support him, that he was forced out by NATO. Reason I say this is that the current alternative based on present achievements , Ukrainian forces will do it and that is a humiliation Putin really can't allow to happen. So, Russia will probably deny it was deliberate, but then do it again and until NATO say enough is enough and act. Admitting it was deliberate would weaken a Putin argument that NATO are out to get him. We heard him say that Russia was being targeted by 'the west' in his last major address. So in summary I am arguing this is deliberate, but will be denied, but IMHO Putin wants NATO to chase his troops out of Ukraine in preference to the utter humiliation of Ukraine doing it. Makes no sense when the US congress, General Milley, and supposedly the white house are urging negotiation between the two countries as late as yesterday. Striking Poland would be a good way to stop peace talks and get Nato to give the air support Zelensky has been asking for.
