just don't use pickle brine in the soup... the pickles themselves would be enough of a sour taste for first try.... and probably peel the potato
@ThatGuy-n7w6 жыл бұрын
Not Important I know what I'm talking about) You just have to find good pickles with good brine. And peeling the potato? Are you nuts?) Just wash it thoroughly and it is done. My grandmother used to make solyanka, now I make it myself) The best hangover cure in Russia.) TL:DR if the soup is too salty because of brine- you are using the wrong kind of pickles, the brine is too concentrated and acid.

Going back through your old catalog after the Kvass recipe was so good that it helped me perfect my squat to heels. Solyanka is next.

Made an improvised version of this using canned pasta sauce, tons of potatoes, garlic, cabbages and some chicken breast meatball thingy, etc. Probably not taste good as Boris's cooking, but still good enough to satisfy my family. Thanks, Boris!

Without pickle and olives it's not solyanka but it does sound delicious

I've made this a few times now, most recently using elk meat instead of beef. Comes out amazing every time. One thing I will say is that the more sour pickles seem to work best. Thank you Boris!

What a glorious soup for curbing sickness. I cooked the "Gopnik Supreme" version a few days ago to shoo away my cold and let me tell you, even just one spoonful of that broth was full of flavor and power.

Boris blin! I need your help!!! I live in the US, and are a big fan of your videos. Even though I am technically a western spy because I am from the US, I have learned about the slavic culture from your videos. So this is why I need help: I want to pro squat like slav, but I am broke as you were at the start of your channel. Why is this a problem? I ONLY HAVE ONE PAIR OF SWEATPANTS AND THEY AREN'T EVEN ADIDAS BLYAT! Boris, slav king, please! I need your help. From, Black P.S. my steam username is "a slav wearing a tux"

I made it for the first time today. I'm sure that it is western spy edition but came out great. I used garlic flavored summer sausage and half a clove of garlic . Also I only had dry parsley and lemon juice in a squeeze bottle. It came out fantastic.
