Made solyanka with my Mama today...while listening to Russian folk music with occasional Hardbass dancing breaks.... Papa was overwhelmed with love for the delicious solyanka, retrieving multiple bowls... Thank you for helping this Western spy discover the joy of cooking. You know what I love about Boris' cooking? He's got some legit equipment. His pots and pans are not cheap basic ones. Those are all proper sauce pots, saute pans and crock and stock pots with heavy bottoms. Like him. LOL! He's also got all types of real accessories like proper cake, breads and muffin pans, cooling racks, sheet pans, hotel pans, digital thermometers, mixing bowls and all kinds of other stuff that any chef would have no problem and be proud to cook with. Most of all, this nigga is neat, tidy and clean. The mess is obviously played up for his videos.

German food is fucking awesome as well, by the way. I fucking love Klöße and Thureringer Bratwurst. Fraenkische Bratwurst is also pretty good, and your beer is pure heaven. You also have awesome desserts like Rhabarberkuchen and Streuselkuchen, my girlfriend even learned to make it. Greetings from Moscow!

I may just have to make this. There is nothing like it in regular american cuisine. No soup has pickles in it! Being that I have liked all Eastern European food I have tried thus far, I am certainly going to have to try this.

just don't use pickle brine in the soup... the pickles themselves would be enough of a sour taste for first try.... and probably peel the potato
@ThatGuy-n7w
@ThatGuy-n7w 6 жыл бұрын
Not Important I know what I'm talking about) You just have to find good pickles with good brine. And peeling the potato? Are you nuts?) Just wash it thoroughly and it is done. My grandmother used to make solyanka, now I make it myself) The best hangover cure in Russia.) TL:DR if the soup is too salty because of brine- you are using the wrong kind of pickles, the brine is too concentrated and acid.
