@@feijida8841 Yeah it's surprising but I've seen a video of a BTR4 knocking out a T-72 by hitting it's side near the tracks and detonating it's ammo with only a couple of shots, so it's possible.

The core of the round is depleted uranium. It creates a hot plasma on impact to burn through steel. As you can see, it takes many rounds from the rear. All you need is a small fire in the engine compartment to get things going.

Most tanks have full thickness armour to the front and front sides including turret the top of turret and back of the tanks are relatively thinner armour to keep the weight of the tank down, otherwise they would be too slow and turn etc. The ricochets probably came off the turret armour which is thicker and would deflect a 40 round

Russia's is a conscript army, essentially an army of slaves. Since Sparta and Athens fought each other for control of the Aegean, Western armies have been based on a small, professional full-time force. They practice combined arms all the time, because they're essentially always training. That's very expensive in terms of eg fuel, NATO have been training the Ukranians in combined-arms for eight yrs now, since 2014, and we see clearly Russia doesn't do this. The worst thing of all, are their tactics. It's no wonder that Indians, after they bought the MiG-21: threw out the tactics manuals that came with it.

They survived, but a young English woman, Dawn Sturgess, was killed - murdered. We (English) are never going to forget it.
