US holds military exercises all over the world and actually has military bases very close to those countries that are on the other side of the world, doesn't it seem a little hypocritical to get alarmed over someone else doing the same over here.

The U.S. isn't on a quest to take over the world, this is the place people go because the opportunity is here. in the third world war the axis powers are Russia China and North Korea, it's as if the three worst places want to band together to try and defeat the free world. The second world war was only won by a pretty small margin all things considered, so yes it is different when America does it's business because America is out here helping the little guy (Ukraine) while Russia is attempting to gain territory, north korea is in general an awful place that has a dictator who wants nothing more than to gain power, and finally China which as much as it benefits from the U.S. buying goods would still like to see the downfall of America. Thank goodness for NATO existing or else the United States would be gone already. But if those 3 axis powers work in tandem slowly hijacking Europe and Asia. I might be jumping the gun on this topic but it's genuinely scary to watch as the world is helpless to the threat of nuclear war

When two of the four ships are there to rescue or salvage the sub if something goes wrong, we've been tracking them this whole time ready to take them out at a moment's notice, and at Norfolk we have more than 40 carriers ready to go and FLEETS in every ocean on the planet, this isn't the impressive show they thought it would be. We're not Russian serfs watching a couple of boats on the river and cheering because we have to. We're the strongest naval force the world has ever seen. I’d deem it a flotilla. There is one frigate, one nuclear powered, submarine, a transport ship, and a tugboat. (Just in case one of the vessels breaks down.) But not to worry. The USCGC Stone was following along too. The highly trained professionals were there to ensure safety If one of the Russian boats did sink.

I was a US Nav al analyst in the 80's serving aboard US warships in both The Atlantic and Pacific - my job was to understand Soviet Naval order of battle, deployments and tactics - back then the Soviet Navy could surge units of all kinds until it went broke in the late 80's. If you look today at the two Naval combatants in Cuba - the entire Russian navy only has four of those destroyers and two of that class of submarine. They are a bankrupt force with no units. The priority for the Russian Navy now is to build strategic units - ballistic missile submarines and a few units to defend them - thats it, and they aren't building very many, perhaps one or two per year. So people shouldn't be concerned with these four ships in Cuba - it's a short month long show put on by Putin - acting like he has strength that doesn't exist in reality.

The sub we tracked the whole way and spends more time on the surface than underwater, possibly carrying nukes. Nukes that probably don't work because they're 40+ years old and they have to be rebuilt every 15 or so years, and Russia is notoriously bad at maintenance whilst great at stealing budgets for oligarch megayachts and French villas.

Most likely launched from the Northern Sea Route. Sabetta, Dikson, Dudinka, Khatanga, Tiksi, and Pevek ports. All of these are accessible from the northern area of Russia. The route itself also allows ships to cross from the Pacific to the Atlantic without going past the equator.
