Delicious and strong powerful! Beethoven would like this! Beethoven wanted louder instruments piano fortes! Pletnev his Budapest in 1987 concert is missing! i can not find it! Pletnev his structure and rhythmic is the best Grieg Carnival! Evgeny Kissin his Grieg Carnival so strange and bad structure!

Compare this drab mess with Kissin's live performance, which was also an encore, but delivered faultlessly and with sublime passion .....

Just 2 different approaches. Pletnev is a master in "restrained" expressivity. His use of time and sound is masterful. There are just a few artists that create a unique universe, and he is one of them. You may not like his approach, but it is not a mess. Not at all.

Kissin is a pygmy compared to Pletnev.
