Her playing is extremely confident. She plays without a doubt or fear. Specially at the coda (33:20), I've never heard any performance that highlighted the harmonies like she did.

So captivating, this full-hearted interpretation that in which everything seems to happen on the spur of the moment. We go on a long journey with Medtner and receive delightful surprises around every bend. I love the "Puccini-place" at about 7.30, like something out of "Madama Butterfly". It is beautifully played, with quite a slow start to build from.

Just wonderful... the exquisite section starting around 23:07 is worthy of wider fame and is a joy to play even without the orchestra.

When I studied the work and wanted to play from it for friends, I chose the F sharp minor section from the 1. movement, i. e. from 9.20 to 13.40, which is also a joy to play without the orchestra.

Brilliant performance by Nikolaeva - in my view this is even better than the Nikolai Demidemko recording I have. In fact, I feel the same regarding Abram Shatskes recordings of nrs.1 & 2 (both also on YT), in comparison with the Alexeev en Demidenko recordings I have of nrs.1 & 2 respectively. Although especially Demidenko can play with much fire and power, the older Russian pianists are not only powerful, but just seems to play with so much more expression in every note. Just magnificent playing from an age where it was not just about technique. Shatskes en Nikolaeva simply outplay Demidemko and Alexeev not as pianists, but as interpreters of the music - Music making at a different level than what most modern day pianists know about.

Her tempo for the finale is ideal, fast but not in any way stressful.

We need you to find and upload her recording of Tchaikovsky Concert Fantasy, op. 56 (with Kondrashin, approximately 1950 or 1952).

IMO Konstantin Scherbakov sound is at the top, Tatiana being second tied with Tozer. But it could be attributed to the orchestra or the recording.
