That's true: in a lot of Hollywood films, all the villains are always either German Nazis or Russians. Since America doesn't have a long history, it can only use these two main countries as tropes in films, which is kind of unfortunate since it produces a lot of stereotypes. But oh well...that's entertainment for people! I heard from my Russian friend that in some movies where Russians are the enemies, the Hollywood movie will not even use proper Russian. For example, in a Jason Bourne movie, he's suppose to have a Russian passport, but when he opens it to show the camera, it's just random letters. Also, a lot of Hollywood actors/actress can't do a Russian accent 😂
@RussianReactionReviews3 жыл бұрын
There’s a video I want to review where actors have a Russian accent , maybe I can do a review and rate the accents lol
@rogerrabbit31113 жыл бұрын
@Jack Well, since an actor/actress must wait to receive a script, read it over, read the character description, audition for the role, and sign a contract between their agent, lawyer, and the production studio, I imagine they'd have to put in A LOT of time, effort, and energy to make the film as realistic as possible, so having to "speak like a commie" is more of an artistic dedication than it is anything else.
@xermai93 жыл бұрын
Not true Oleg Mashkov plays in mission impossible Ghost Protocol he plays good Russian guy! Who is a real Russian actor! And there’s many more! But with that being said, most Russians don’t wanna play bad guys in general that’s why sometimes they use people with different nationally. Like, Ilya lagutenko said “why would try and get acting in America all I would be offered is bad guy roles!” That would be a very boring career.

Ok, one more comment, it's a long one. This comment about Americans being afraid of Russians is NOT true. I was traveling last summer and I was in the country of Georgia. One evening, I was in the town square watching some street performers dance. 4 young adults were nearby. Three ladies and a young man. I say young as they were in their mid 20's....I'm old....anyway, we started chatting. They were Russians from Moscow. They were teachers on vacation. We had the best time learning about each other. Fantastic, nice, lovely people. We became friends on Facebook. We send each other post cards from our country. Amazing people Russians. Back in the early 1980s there was a TV show called SCTV (which stands for Second City Television). The show was set in a local TV station in a small town in Canada. There was one episode in which the Russian government took over the station broadcast. They used that premise to do a bunch of parodies of Soviet TV shows. The episode is called "CCCP 1." You should look up Yakov Smirnoff and his comedy. On a side note, while living in Europe I would try to learn the local language to be able to fit in more. In Prague I ran into a problem that I would encounter in Warsaw, Sophia, and Kiev, I have a very heavy Russian accent when speaking any Slavic language, and in the early 1990s it was not a popular accent to have in eastern Europe. The part that made it worse is that I am an American, and clearly not white so the confusion was profound, Warsaw was the worse I spent some time in a small room with no windows trying to explain why I had that accent. My babysitter for the first 4 years of my life was Russian and spoke to me in Russian so I spoke that language first before English or French - which is what my family speaks.

My old boss was from the Czech republic. Good guy, horrible boss. I was always staying with random people when I was on the road. It was cool though. Got to sit down and not understand hardly a word from the people he had me stay with. Some knew the English language. Others made me feel like a foreign exchange student. Honestly meeting people from all over the world was cool. The foods they made and they always treated me right. He sent me down to Atlanta to clean a store. Was only supposed to be there for 4 days. Ended up being a week and a half. He had me go down there the week before to help another dude take a vacation. Had to haul his motorcycle 10 hours back to Kentucky. Him. He seemed pissed he was going on a vacation. Might have been different if I could understand the language more. As far as it goes I've been treated like family by people who weren't from the US. And treated like a stranger by neighbors. Really made me appreciate other cultures more. Eating different styles of food from all over. Russian, Dominican republic, Czech, and mongolia. All had showed up most respect. Taught me alot about the rest of the world and the difference between the way people here think. Respect.

A lot of these jokes are just stereotypes. Some people do believe them but most is just old fears and from Hollywood movies. In school there was a Ukrainian guy and he was one of my best friends at the time. Or at my first job there was a old Russian guy and he would always help if you asked him. He also had some pretty crazy stories lol. Have you seen any Kreosan videos? They are pretty fun if you like watching people do crazy things

The thing about Russia are all of the beautiful women. I was amazed. One a scale of 1 to 10, the average young lady in Russia is at least a 7. I am not kidding. I've never seen so many beautiful women anywhere else in the world😉

That Trevor Noah bit was cut short. He did say that everything that Russians say sounds menacing but later in the show he said that was only when they spoke English. He said he loved to hear Russians speak Russian. I agree. I had a chance to go to Russia when I was a kid living in Europe and it's much more beautiful than Hollywood movies portrays.
