This video represents a new way of presenting my tutorials. I'm trying to be more focused and avoid repeated info and/or unnecessary commentary. If I feel like adding commentary, I'll add a special section at the end. Your feedback is appreciated!!

Hi Austin. Your point about using switches to redirect power triggered a question. A few updates ago we were limited to 12 turrets in a base. Is there a way to use components to redirect power from one side of the base defences to another. Example: 8 turrets on each side of the base, with 2 being inoperable. Could a circuit be set, using sensors to detect movement or raid damage, where the power is diverted from the one side of the base to activate the additional turrets on the other? So the turret split becomes 4 vs 8.

I haven't played this update yet, but I already love the news about it. When I played a few months ago, I tried to do electronics and got fairly good at it. Butbit was always a struggle to keep the Inbetween electric cost down with as few splitters and diverters. So having the option to wild is amazing, with only the space on the walls being the limiting factor

Do we have some max depth related issues now? Similar to say how a conveyer only can see (is it 16 boxes?) We could build a basic computer now, even a screen using lights as pixels... Unless there is a "max depth" for logic circuits..?

I still have a little problem that havent changed after this update it seems. Having no space for large/medium battery in a small base, I would use multiple car batteries. Charging them at the same rate seems fine, but trying to link them up in a way that they would all use the same amount of power (aka homemade large battery) but it seems impossible since all electrical components likes to favour 1 then 2 then 3 (like you talked about in the video) but this drains battery 1 instead of spreading the power usage over all 3 batteries .. Is there a way to to this? I like strong and small bases, having a large battery isnt really ideal

how do i get lights to turn on at night themself ?? ive been trying but somehow they turned off at night but on during the day . this shit so complicated lol
@AustinKlailaGames6 ай бұрын
Install a Blocker at the beginning of your lights circuit (before or after the switch if you use one). Install a Solar Panel that's aimed a bit off from north/south. I like to try east west and just see what's best. Run the output of the Solar Panel to the Block Passthrough on the Blocker. You're done! During the day the solar panel will prevent power from passing through the Blocker, ergo, keeping your lights off. When the solar panel reaches 0 rW output at night, your lights will turn on. Sometimes it's useful to place the solar panel where it will get shaded BEFORE it's completely dark so that your lights come on at around dusk.

Is NIH Core useless now?
@bearpants83766 ай бұрын
extra comment about the alignment snapping of components is that you can place a splitter then align a branch with the upper corner manually then pick if your next component aligns with the middle of the splitter or the branch which is nice if you're cramped for space
@mrgrantham44756 ай бұрын
How does the update interact with the NIH Core?
@l.n.27746 ай бұрын
I think nih core is still useful I assume there is still a battery tax. Just wont take 9 rw to power the nih anymore.
@Piktro6 ай бұрын
Makes it more efficient to run. You don't need the root combiner anymore (if you were using one), and you can swap the splitter out for chained branches (set the first branch to 3, then second branch 2). Branch out 1 goes to input of branch 2. Power out of branch 1 goes to OR switch. Branch output of 2 goes to memcell "toggle". Power output of 2 goes to memcell "set". I realize that's probably confusing, but I can't link an image or circuit here.

Everything was good in this update except the heli AI. Facepunch was assuming everyone must play on sweaty 600 pop servers with huge clans. It’s impossible to take as a solo or a small group now. Even if there's lots of ppl trying to take it, it still might now go down because it'll flee out into the ocean and continue to flee until it despawns. One of the worst changes they've ever made.

That is something I intend to look into! I'm in the process of looking at past builds to see what needs updating. I would say that it's likely that the only way it affected the sprinkler timer circuit would be to make it cheaper to power.
