all the reason you listed is the reason I've forked over a grand to play this on pc. After a week I can honestly say that it was worth it. I love console rust but after playing pc you finally understand how far behind console is. the fact pc has monthly updates compared to one update every 3-6months keeps the content fresh, console is starting to feel like its the same wipe week every week

I'm not sure how I feel about this game on console...I finally was able to play a game I wanted to try to end up waiting 8+ hours of wait time of continuous server time outs and just constantly waiting to load into a server..I've only been able to play for a few hours at most. Very heavily disappointed for 2024 Rust..

Update: It was a connection speed issue. My speed is roughly 7Mb which is terrible, good enough for other games but not Rust. I tried my hotspot (65Mb) and it instantly connects and loads within a minute of choosing a server.

I will really never understand why they didn’t just yoink the code from pc and change it up slightly to better perform on console aswell as giving it controller controls then go “boom, rust console”

@@bootsNDI can be of some help here. So I don’t know much about coding or programming but I do know what happened. They were given strict time constraints to release the game on console and the team has no knowledge of coding on console. So they gave it over to Double Eleven to code. Apparently it seems from my understanding coding on console is a bit gate kept and the better teams that code are not going to give up their secrets for free. I know that doesn’t make much sense but I tried.

@@Djp1989 oh that actually does help a bit the console probably uses it’s own language or something so you can’t really just copy paste but then again I feel it definitely would of been receipted better if they’d just took the time to release it on the same update as PC rust instead of putting us 8 years behind

​@@bootsNDofc it would have! but sadly they succumbed to the Game freak effect. instead of taking time to make a good and polished game but risk losing Investors and sponsors, they opt to overwork their workers and create something they don't care about (so that they can get the money early) and get some press from it because to them, all press is good press.

i play it on my pc all the time when i get a chance to the point where i forget about playing other games but after seeing the version on console i can say i am very glad i did not have my first experience of rust on console, thankfully i got my pc before it came out on console and it looks horrible-.-

it's so bad on console that you literally cannot achieve over 40fps on last gen. your average firefight will have more bullets per second than frames. love the game, hate the devs. optimization is beyond horrible, even next gen lags frequently.

i never expected it to be a pc level experience I only wanted it to be par with ark on xbox level experience. I basically played ark on xbox with sure massive frame rate drops vs pc but i could play in a megatribe. There are no dinos in rust and it has less to deal with considering that. All I want is to play it. I might have to pick it up again and see. Cause it was a joke making a play falling through the map and then raiding would show walls you had broken seemingly still there.

They just need to make a graphic setting below very low and make the graphics completely downgraded because I would rather play the game smooth instead of seeing the games cool graphics because I will take the smooth gameplay anyday They can give us the decision to make the game look worse

"well acshully you can lower the terrain quality" and it does practically nothing, ran test, you get lower fps on the highest and lowest settings, go for the middle terrain quality.

D11 refuses to optimize it properly for current gen. Leaving PS5 with only a small improvement in fps and load times compared to PS4/Xbox Theres huges FPS drops every time the average base is loaded in

You cannot hack on console lol it’s only reason people prefer some games on console, because you cannot install 3rd party software like pc. The only thing to worry about on console is people using MnK via XIM or Cronus strike packs(which are not going to turn a noob into a god anyway as most good players can control recoil without a strike pack anyway

Xbox one X is more powerful than the PS4 pro and is able to set itself at 1440p 120hz so this should be a powerful enough to be optimised for this console like ( XBOX ONE X ) ENHANCED I liked to see this !!!!

Rust console is so bad cuz its not a ps5 or xbox series x exclusive.. it has to run on the slowest xbox and ps4 aswell.. runining it for people with the newer systems that are just as powerful as a hugh end gaming pc

Don’t ever expect a open world online survival game to run good on the crappy consoles we have. No shooter is good on console unless you just don’t know any better. Plus most people use a mouse and keyboard cheating every controller player out of there skill. Just go pc so you can play with m$k without cheating
