When i am done cooking i spray it with Pam. When i use it next time i wipe it down and burn it off. No rust ever. My friends got really rusty and i told him to block the drain, tip it and fill it with vinegar. Worked like a champ. Now he does my Pam trick.

New dis, who griddle, wait... lol! This was great, a nice reminder that it really isn't difficult or the end of the world if your griddle surface isn't perfect. I know I still get anxiety from looking at my griddle surface after a long winter's nap, but I know it all be okay. Hope you're having a great new year so far. Griddle On!

I have a pretty good amount of cast iron pans, pots, griddles etc. and use them daily. I always clean them after each use once they have cooled - I NEVER use soap on the cast iron. I wash with very hot water and a copper scrubber, then I put them back on a little heat (Stove top) and let them dry. I only put a wee bit of oil (I use 90 wt gear oil........J/K) after it has a cooled a little. Yes cleaning and caring for cast iron is a chore but it is worth it. Now when I go to use it again, I just heat it up, wipe off the 90 wt gear oil, then I am ready to go. I love my cast iron (I won't name names but it rhymes with Lodge......ooooops, I mean it rhymes with Hodge) I have a question to ax you (I Say Ax because that is how people on the Judge Judy say it)...I want to buy a large griddle to go on my 4 burner gas BBQ - do you know where I can get one? (I have a....rhymes with Hodge), but it isn't big enough, it is 10" x 18", I need a 24" x 18". Thank you for the cleaning tip BTW, I have bought each of your cookbooks for myself and also for my friends. Happy New Year (Henry from Northern California)

Looks like that worked very well indeed. Last week I want to use my Blackstone which I hadn't used in a few weeks and I noticed a spot or two That looked odd. Wasn't really rust colored but it wasn't really food debris either. I used one of those grill sponges with the handle that I normally use to clean the grates on my pit boss smoker. I heated it up till just slightly above 200° and went in with some peanut oil and the grill sponge. Worked wonders. I imagine this is kind of similar. I like when you have these instructional videos, I feel they really help people out. I also like that you stressed to tell people not to use soap on a season to griddle. Totally agree.

I'm terrible at cleaning my Blackstone after each use, as I don't use it often. I use a pumice stone, a little water and liquid dish soap. And then rinse and re season it. Excellent results. Griddle on my brothers!
@waltwins8 ай бұрын
Perfect! Yes! This would be in place of the pumice stone, I’m curious to see how this will hold up, and if it is just as effective over time as the stone. Cheers fam, and GRIDDLE ON INDEED!!

I only use this method as a deep cleaning when the griddle has been lacking maintenance for awhile

Cool product and method. One thing that I noticed on my Blackstone is there are like waves in it. You can see daylight in spots under the scraper. Is this common?
