assuming that you will be able to turn off seeing the spray just like signs, I see no reason not to make them permanent on bases. would be fun to decorate or design your base as well as get into vandalism wars with neighbours and have to use water to wash off the paint.

100% agree decals should be permanent and maybe limit it to like 50 decals per person, and when you place your 52st decal the 1st one you make gets replaced

@@MisterFlak People will use this decals to write. Trust me. Things will get pretty bad. I think this decals should be permanent only if the user has building privilege. Otherwise it should have a time limit. And while being "permanent" for those with building privilege, water should be a way of cleaning any paint in any surface. Because random people while raiding a place, could place racist, vulgar, dicks and so on in your house, and that would not be cool.

I can see facepunch adding spray decals in the store or as twitch drops in the future. I would say at best facepunch will extend the line spray duration but similar to wooden signs make the option in your settings to disable it for streamers.

@@MisterFlak the new spray paint can item is soo cool. I got so excited to create a livery for my cars only to be let down that its not permanent. Instead of vanishing after a period of time the paint should wash away with rain outside of your own building privilege. If it was permanent only in your own building privilege we would have so much opportunity for creativity and expression. My first thoughts were creating a martini racing livery for the cars or a mural on the side of my base. Of course you should have the option to remove if you want. I was also let down to learn that there isn't a white or black spray options. Otherwise the paint can is a novelty item that will be used only to conveniently skin items. // A better idea of what I meant. Basically paying more money to skin my items with the benefit of drawing a dick once in awhile.

I think permanent inside your base, longer time outside with TC (24 hours perhaps), and an hour without, always with the option to wash off with water, including rain.

Ya great idea. I'd suggest two times. Long term ( 24 hours or perm) on owned tc items. Short time on non-owned random items so abuse is a non issue say 15 minutes. You know enough to trigger but not to cause PTSD.

The rust community has no self control but that applies to anything like this because animal crossing gives the players the option draw on clothes as well as send it other players. It’s a funny concept but with a game like rust they really want the game to be as safe as possible for twitch streamers.

Make them permanent, however, rain/sun in rust would wash it away gradually until it fully disappeared. Maybe 5 real days? Idk. Or you should be able to hit it with water gun or some water source to fade it out to nothing. Not to mention, it should be toggable option merged with Signs (so streamers can be safe from naughty words and long thicc rockets!) win win for eveeyone! Also I feel this would be better suited to the permanent rust store for a few bucks, so not everyone can draw big thicc naughty words..

The issue with that is the game will never be balanced to everyones liking, unfortunately it’s just part of rust, and it’s ‘unnecessary’ items like these that add little fun features to the game for those of us who play for fun, and not just as a ‘I accumulated the most of everything’, and built the biggest base on the server mindset that half the players have.

I really think the lines should last about.. half an hour on "no building privilege"... atleast a day on nature stuff.. and forever on ur own stuff/own building privilege... I mean.. sure it will be lots of pictures of D's n stuff.. but aint that the case already with street signs, wooden signs.. neon signs.. fireworks etc already? it wouldnt rly matter cuz u have pretty permanent stuff to do that already - it'd just be a nicer permanent thing :D
