What’s the gear ratio on that climb? We’re designing something similar
@marcusford285515 күн бұрын
We used a 64:1 max planetary gearbox with a neo, and the winch is about 1 inch in diameter. This was enough to hold us off the ground for far more than the 3 seconds needed after the match.

Hi, I was wondering if you have released the instructions on how to build your robot yet? I'm really interested in learning more about it and would appreciate any information you can share. Thanks!

Hello! You can find our CAD and several guides for how to go about building this robot on our ChiefDelphi thread! www.chiefdelphi.com/t/rusthounds-ri3d-2025/477760

I saw you added weight for the climb, is it under the weight limit enough to do that?
@Team86814 күн бұрын
Yes! Without the added 25lb, we would have been at ~70-80lb including the battery.

What program are yall using to simulate and program autonomous
@Team86815 күн бұрын
Hello! We are using PathPlanner for the paths, and AdvantageScope to display 3D mechanism positions. AdvantageScope takes in the poses of each component over NetworkTables, it doesn't handle any of the simulation itself (so it also works when connected to a real robot). Everything else is handled in our robot code, which you can find here! github.com/frc868/2025-Ri3D

Maybe worth adding a flashing lights warning 😂. But overall, nice robot!

Like watching this makes me wonder what can be done to optimize a robot like that , if you guys have conclusions and ideas how to optimize a design like that it will be great, cause this idea is great in a lot of ways , if you guys could maybe check how much cycles can you complete in one match , including auto plus climb at the end , and scoring L4 first and completing all the slots there , then going l3 for example , it will be a great indicator for how good your robot js , plus doing stability checks when the robot is fully open , Thanks a lot , Tal , captain of team 1580 The Blue Monkeys from Israel:)

Hey! If we have time this week we can maybe test those things!
