So sorry for your loss. I lost my mom in October 2019 and three months later, lost my dad. Don’t apologize for tears, I still cry at times. Since they both passed, I constantly think about dying and not being here for my kids. Missing parents will never go away, take one day at a time. 🙏🏻 hugs! Glad you’re back.

Hello Kat! I am a “new” subscriber-meaning I watched some of your older videos and noticed you had stopped posting. After watching this video I want to tell you that you are NOT alone! I lost my mom to cancer too, and I was a special education teacher for emotionally impaired kiddos! The one thing I learned from my mother’s passing was that I had to learn to stop apologizing for my grief. It was mine to hold and I needed to feel it and learn how to accept my new normal. I also had 2 children (boy and girl) that I was raising who needed me, and a caseload of kids who depended on me to advocate for them. It’s heavy…all of it. So taking the time you need to figure it out seems absolutely acceptable ❤. However, if these videos fill your heart and bring you joy, come back and share your creativity! If it adds too much to your already full bucket-don’t take this on. Take care of YOU- and don’t apologize for being human.🥰 Sending positive vibes!

This was an awesome reply and thru out her apologizing I thought to myself she doesn't need to appologize for taking care of herself, her family and taking time to grieve. My mom passed away July 26,2021 from Pancreatic cancer the day before her bday and a week before she was still walking to the farmers market and every other day she walked a mile. I lived in her house and was hoping to buy it, but her executor gave me a date to move out. I could tell you all the heartache I went thru relocating and still having to go there weekly do do all the yardwork and lots of other negativities. I am overwhelmed in a very tiny tiny little flat, I have not unpacked accept for clothes and the kitchen stuff, I haven't crafted since she was taking naps in July I made tons of decorations for the 4th of July for the back porch that we lived on on the summer. I saw my sister yesterday only the 2nd time since last March and we live 16 miles away. My brother lives in NJ is a TBI patient still in extensive rehab. My dad is 84 and we go to church together every Sunday and out to lunch afterwards and to dinner every Wed. From 43 years old to 49 he had 2 diff cancers at one point given 6 months to live. I told my sister yesterday that I will go for a few days sometimes weeks and then it is like a wave and I am hit hard and I am down and I cry so hard missing my mom. She was my best friend and the closet female I have ever had and my grandmother was a close 2nd. I will keep you in my prayers and I am very sorry for your parents passing. Blessings, Rebekah in VA

You never get over losing your parents. I lost my mom in 1988 and my dad in 1991. I was saying the other night that I needed to talk with her. It does get easier but you always miss them. My daughter has six boys and she goes through your same feelings. She lost her only girl when she was born at 18 and a half weeks old. Doctors said there was nothing they could do to save her and she and her husband held her until she passed. I couldn't get myself to hold her as I knew they needed to since she wouldn't live long. She lived 2.5 hours. I will keep you in my prayers and ask God to help you to remember the wonderful times with her.

I was crying in the car with my 14 yr old daughter today because she bought some ginger snaps and it made me think of my mom. She loved them. Mom made the holidays so special with fun games and making ugly Christmas sweaters etc. I try my best to keep our own family traditions for our kids. It means so much to them to keep the fun traditions going and we talk about her a lot. You will find your same ways of doing that for your kids. Also you don’t realize how much you learned from your mom til you teach your kids the same things your mom taught you. It’s kinda surreal.

So sorry for the loss of your mom. I lost my mom 7 years ago and I still find myself wanting to call her to ask her about something. It’s not silly at all to have those feelings of death I know I did. Six weeks ago I had heart surgery and now it really hits home that I won’t be here for my grandchildren. I want to watch them grow! Anyway just the other day I was looking for your channel to make sure that I wasn’t missing them. I’ve missed you and your smiles and crafts. The believe sign was my favorite and I may have to do that one. I’ll always be here to watch your videos whenever!!

My heart goes out to you!! Grief is a journey we all face at some time in our lives! It is perfectly normal that you questioned your own mortality. Losing someone dear to us is a tremendous loss on so many levels. I lost my husband 3 days before Christmas 2019 and my Mom followed 4 months later. Then of course covid hit right when my Mom passed and we all went in to lock down. I never felt more alone in my life as I have the past 2 1/2 years. It basically forced me to go within and understand what Faith is all about. Try not to put so much pressure on yourself!! Take care of you and know that your Mom is and always will be with you!

I lost my Dad Suddenly (heart attack) and my youngest Brother (Pancreatic Cancer) and less then a year later lost my Mom (Pneumonia) time heals, there is no short cuts through grief. They passed 2006/2007 but there still are days I miss them, have a good cry, so your tears when talking about your Mom, is totally understandable. Your crafts are adorable, and look easy enough that even I might be able to make them. Love and Light. ❤️🙏✨

Kat, I was crying with you. No need for you to apologize loss is hard and I could not imagine loosing my mom. I totally understand putting on that happy face for your students then you go home n you try to deal with things but be strong for your children. Everything you were saying is all normal but with your job it makes things different because u work with children that may not understand n u have to be there rock! Everything u create is totally beautiful! My heart goes out to u and your family. Thank u for sharing not only your beautiful pieces but lil more into your life. Take care!! Also crafting is one of the best therapies you can do. After leaving my severely abusive husband crafting became more than a passion but a way to cope.

Kay-I am so very sorry that you lost your Mom, it’s ok to be in a dark place after such a heartbreaking loss. I just lost my Mom in October after a short battle with metastasized breast cancer to her spine. She lived with my husband and I and it’s been very tough missing her, I keep expecting her to come out for coffee. I love your projects, and I’m glad you’re back🥰

She and I were very close and I miss her so much! You have to know that we support you. That is how the crafty community. Take it a day at time. Forgive yourself and be kind to yourself too! I have missed you! You were one of the very first DIYers that I started to follow. I am so saddened that you lost your mom. I am sure you have heard this many times; I have lost mine to cancer as well... but I have - 32 years ago. It still hurts. It always will. But, lean or your Faith, Family and Friends and you will get through the grief. Don't hide the tears. Those who love you will still love you. I love your kind spirit and enjoy your crafts. You are a blessing to all you come into contact with on your channel and in your daily life. Take heart sweet lady!

Bless your heart! I only recently discovered your channel, and let me just say I’m so sorry for your profound loss. You don’t owe anyone any apologies. You have suffered a tremendous loss, and with that comes tremendous grief. You’ve been doing your best to navigate that grief & the depression that comes with it, all while trying to maintain strength & positivity for your kids, both at home & at school. My 13 yr old son is on the autism spectrum & has developmental & behavioral disabilities, receiving SpEd services at school. I know what a special person it takes to devote their life to educating these students. Thank you for doing what you do for your students & for what you give to your followers!

Oh goodness, sweet Kat. First and foremost. I'm so sorry for your loss of your mom. You'll be in my prayers. Secondly, sweet lady, you are human. I'm a really positive person too, but sometimes you just don't feel it. You're allowed, you're validated in those feelings. Sometimes you just need to cling to the blessings in your life, they are precious. Just know this, we love you, we're praying for you and we'll be here rooting you on every step of the way. ❤️

We all handle grief differently so you go through it as best you can and I’ve lost both parents so I completely understand. I lost My Mom at 21 in 1993, My Dad in 2017, so it doesn’t matter how old you are when you lose a parent you might as well be 5 years old because you always need them. We will be here for you so you do what you need or do and I will be praying for you!! ♥️🙏

May the merry of your mom bring you joy. My mom passed away in 2006. Whenever I have something that I want to share, I still reach for the phone. Though I still forget she is no longer with us, it is not as bad. I just think of the fun times and all she did for us. It takes a while to come to terms that she is gone, but it does get better.
