This is Maya a really nice rustic Sprinter Van conversion built on a budget and resulting in a very cozy van home!
Hire this van with Quirky Campers: bit.ly/35gssUP
The van is a Mercedes Sprinter 310d 1999with a 5 cylinder chain driven engine (no cambelt) which they call the million mile engine due to its reliability and that it essentially goes forever!
The bed construction is pretty smart. He uses a sofabed mechanism to allow his bed to be put out and taken away in seconds. Using ready-made components in this way is a good way to get high functionality without loads of effort!
This van has a compressor fridge, gravity feed water system, wood stove, LED lighting, lithium battery with relay and solar panel system.
The wood stove is pretty cool, it does seem to take up a fair bit of space - but at the same time in a very cold winter, it would certainly make the van really warm!
I love the clever use of space and that it has great cooking and living facilities while not being a super expensive build.
I hope you enjoyed this tour, don't forget to help us out by liking and subscribing :)

gravity water is such a good idea. why bother with pumps and electricity when you can just put the water up in the air?
@lorcro2000
@lorcro2000 5 жыл бұрын
Because if you put the tank under the body, you save a lot of space internally, and above all you can fit a much larger tank. Instead of hunting for water once a day, you fill up once a week or longer. And with pumps and electricity you can also run the water through a heat exchanger and boom, now you have hot water for dishes or showering. I'm pretty sure constantly having to go look for water gets very, very old after a while.

There may be no shower, but if you do the wim Hof method, showering outside in the winter would be no problem at all. For everyone else, there are gyms. Not having a shower would be another incentive to exercise regularly. Great work, mate!

Great build. Love the openess of it. I have the cdi 313 2001. Its been pretty good. Probably injectors are the big issue with these. No creep home function ☺ which is fantastic. I have a shower area which im not sure i could live without being in Australia.

@lorcro2000

That's not remotely five seconds. It's five seconds to flatten it, then it's 45 minutes worth of making the bed until you can sleep. Ok, so 45 minutes is a crazy exaggeration, but it's still the usual mucking around with making the bed, stripping the bed, making the bed, stripping the bed... give me a nice Murphy bed you can flip up and out of the way in five actual seconds, fully made. And frankly the fact that you have to open the door and get out of the van to flatten the bed is really a turn-off. Have fun with that in a snowstorm or rainstorm. Eww. Other than that, it does look nice enough I guess, but pretty basic and primitive. I know some people like that, but I'm not in that camp. To each his own.

Far too heavy for a van conversion...The idea with van builds is make them as light as possible..You have to pay for fuel to pull all that around. Stressing the Van mechanics causing more fuel emissions and more visits for diesel than ever...Keep it efficient,keep it light weight 😉
