Dear gosh; that opening tune certainly opens a floodgate of memories. Such a catchy start! 0:16 - Interesting; you get a similar vibe to the original, a sort of thin and sharp sound that touches the ear, but your transition here feels smoother. I think it's because whilst there is a touch of contrast with the zing at the start, the end to the beat if softer sounding. 0:35 - Though here the differences certainly become more apparent. I like how the choir element is combined with the spotlights appearing on screen. Nice to have a visual element of the music remix. 1:14 - Really differentiating from the original here. A lot more build up with a slower pace, more variety in the volume shift and once again, less of a sudden contrast (whilst I like most of the original contrasts to Rusty Ruin Zone, this one always felt jarring in the original). 2:34 - I like the range to the remix here. Moments like this feel mystical, earlier bits had a natural vibe despite the jolly energy (like Sonic running through these ruins with his carefree attitude), whilst the electronic moments feels like Eggman's presence on the level. He has a comedic side to him though, so whilst there is a dark and mechanical undertone to the electronic beats, there's also a bit of a fun energy, as if not only Eggman is having fun but also Sonic is still having fun rushing through the level. 3:02 - An now things get a little sinister. Eggman's starting to get annoyed and is starting to get serious. The smile has turned to a frown. Incredible that you've got a screechy feel to the music without it being grating on the ears.
