I have found that if you slightly inflate the innertube before you put it into the rim it can prevent the tube from twisting inside of the tire.

I have a number of questions: 1. What of the inside of the frame tubes (which must also be badly rusty), how did you treat and remove rust from there? 2. How long does such a restoration take? 3. Unless this is a personal/sentimental project is the time and materials taken worth it; would it not be cheaper to just buy a new bike? Thanks in advance.

No moisture can get inside the frame to cause rust . The paint job takes a couple of days. He ordered new stickers , chain , seat , seat post , handle bars , new cables for brakes /gears and couple of other things. He's probably going to sell it as a vintage bike. A new cheap , but quality bike would still be much more . The paint job was better than most or maybe any paint job.

I find that most name brand steel frame bikes I work on the rust isn't even that significant. Most of the time just a touch up here and there. The carbon/cro-moly content is so high that the frame will outlive me if taken care of..Steel is Real!
