those 30" tires would have cleared no problem if you didnt have those wheel spacers on there making the tire stick out too much. stock suspension XJs can run 31-10.5-15s as long as the springs arent clapped out. the spacers did the damage to your fenders.

The JKS Bar Pin Eliminators DO NOT WORK with Old Man Emu shocks, front or rear! The OME bushings are performed around the bar pins!

Very well done! I just ordered this kit this morning for my '98 XJ. You gave me a great heads up as to sizes of bolt heads so I can make sure I have the right tools before I start. Could you post a part number or model year for the Ford F250 super duty sway bar links? Also, would you suggest getting larger upper shock bushings? - I see you mention the urethane bushings that come with the kit are a little small. Thanks!

I’m glad some of my information was helpful. I would actually recommend getting some (moog) shock bushing or trying to see if you can source some from a parts store or online. I wasn’t impressed with the stock Rusty’s shocks or the bushings. I actually ended up upgrading the shocks to the bilstien 5100s which I’ll go over in a later video to come. However for the sway bar links. I ordered them from Amazon it’s a Detroit axle brand. I believe the part number was k8663 and it’s for 2 links that fit front or rear of a 1985-1997 ford f-250. I think they’re still like $29. I will for-worn the bushings on those also aren’t the greatest or atleast the veg-brine and pa road salt mix ate thru them as well. I also had to replace them. Just remember if you need to replace the sway bar bushings look up for a f250 and not a Jeep xj. Trust me from my mistake. Another side note: again this will be explained in a later video, if you are doing the 3in lift and also order the heavy duty rear shackles. The Jeep will have a rake ( the front end sets lower than the rear) for a few hundred miles. Until the suspension fully settles in. To reduce this simply order a higher or taller front coil spring insulator.

@@DharTVI got 3inch lift what biggest tires I can put on it. 98 xj.

I wouldn’t recommend anything over a 32in tall tire by 10.50in wide using a 15inch wheel. If you’re using a 16in wheel probably wouldn’t exceed a 31in diameter tire. Most likely the same if you were to opt for a 18in wheel. Just keep in mind, the larger the tire the less torque you’ll have and more drivetrain strain and loss. Anything over a 32in in a 15in wheel axle regearing is highly recommended.

Great vid! What F250 application did you use for the sway bar links?
@DharTV Жыл бұрын
I believe anywhere from 93-97 f250 rear sway bar links will work.

Hello again, I commented on part 2 of your install and I have another question. I'm installing my Rusty's 3" kit now and at 15.39 of your video it shows you put the second hole facing down. My question is that my instructions show it facing up above the axle bolt. I'm asking if this is correct or did they change something in the install instructions. Thanks for the video!

Are you talking in reference to the front axle control arms? @michielayers9113
@michielayers91138 ай бұрын
@@DharTV Yes, the upper control arms.

At the time of my installation, I placed it in that position as per Rusty’s OffRoad instructions for a 3in lift. Once you go to a 4in then the other hole will be used. This is all for axle alignment and symmetry. I personally haven’t had any issues with alignment or steering with my vehicle with this setting. It’s possible that they’ve changed something in their design or instructions since I’ve installed my lift. They have great customer support and typically answer the phone right away I would highly recommend giving them a call to just verify with them. I hope this helps, an or apologize if this wasn’t an absolute answer. Again in my application I haven’t had any issues, it is a quick part to unbolt and reinstall too. @michielayers9113

Hey man I got the same kit for my 92 and the only thing that’s stopping me is getting those fuckass bushings through the actual ring of the shocks so I was just wondering if you had some tips on getting those things in there
@DharTV Жыл бұрын
@baileyhall8637 sorry for the late response. Best tip I have is using a vice or what I did was a lot of wd-40 a bench and a c-clamp to press them in. It’s a pain I would highly recommend having a vice. Possibly warming the bushing up with a heat gun or hair dryer would aid in installation.
