I bought a Sun e trike August 2020. It’s similar in design to the Bolton. It has 5 speeds with pedal assist 1-5 levels. It can go up to 20 mph. The Sun doesn’t do great on gravel, but I can ride on sidewalks, the “People Trail”and paved streets. I LOVE it! I’m a 66 yo woman living in Indiana. Rusty is right...Walmart stopped me at the door!! The trike was used at a local dealer for $300 and I bought the etrike conversion kit for $1600 and the local shop owner installed the conversion kit. Walking and I no longer have a congenial relationship, so my Sun e trike has kept me more active and got me out of the house. If anyone does buy an electric bike or trike, maintenance with a local shop is very important. That lack of a dealer relationship can impact the warranty. Good luck!

I vote for the Bolton...much sturdier build and those tires will come in handy on all the roads in the state parks that you go to. Just feel in the long run....the Bolton is going to hold up for you better. The stability factor is a big plus too as well as the fenders on the rear keeping mud and stones from hitting you.

Most ebikes with pedal assist levels have a level 0 that disables pedal assist. That allows you to pedal as much as you like and just use the throttle as needed. I already have an eBike but personally the Bolton looks more solid and I would guess would last longer.

My son is a hard core mountain bike rider, tried out an assist bike with full suspension and hasn't had as much fun before or since. I have ridden speeded bikes since the early 60's and can attest they are not a big deal once you get some experience. Bolton makes a full suspension bike, so the seat is not a big deal. As long as your balance is good, I personally love bikes over trikes. I am your age Rusty and if I can do it most anyone can ride an Ebike, much more versatile in MHO and FUN! Beautiful weather in Western Nevada. Enjoy the cervasa, nectar of the gods.

Liberty Trike posted a look at the new trike they'll be bringing out around June on 4/23 on the Electric Bike Technologies KZbin channel. 20" wheels which are mag wheels, hydraulic brake, new rear basket and new way to carry batteries. Pretty awesome looking trike.

I haven't received my Liberty Trike yet (just ordered today), but a very important feature is that it breaks down into two pieces that only weigh 25 lbs each. So it's much easier to transport than ones that only fold but don't come apart.

I think I like the Bolton mainly due to the bigger tires. Most of the places I'd want to use it at aren't paved. Be absolutely fantastic to throw the tackle boxes and a couple of rod-n-reels in along with a small cooler. Anyhow thanks for sharing Rusty. Have a great day!

The Bolton is more 'Trikeman,' but you only live once so I'd sell them both and get a Trident. I got the Trident Spike. It is lighter, way more comfortable, more stable, looks cool, you can get a neat canopy, and the e-assist is more like the Liberty. I got the n380 automatic shifting instead of a derailleur or e-assist and can add e-assist later. My husband will get the Titan, which is built for bigger capacity, then we hit the trails!

Wondering why you chose to keep the Liberty trike and get rid of the Bolton trike? No question which is the better machine or which one is more compact to store, especially now that you're carrying it on a hitch behind your new motor home. I've been waiting now for a couple months to get a Bolton (which is actually a Eunorau New Trike - Bolton had nothing to do with building it) mainly because it folds and the handlebars also fold - MUCH easier to transport and store than anything which doesn't fold
@sclwrkr4 жыл бұрын
I’ve ordered the liberty. The weight and weight limit, I will need to store in my outback so I needed smaller, but I’m a big girl so I wanted a big weight capacity. I like that I can peddle alone. Also it will double as a mobility vehicle for older family members when they visit.

The seat on the liberty comes with a backrest, i don't see that on the other trike. Perhaps the backrest might make the ride more comfortable? The liberty is easier getting in/out of the truck, as its lighter weight. You can take the liberty into the grocery store, whereas the other trike you can't. Sounds like the liberty is more functional. Looking forward to hearing your decision on which trike you'll keep.

That leaves me out by 2" from the bigger, heavier framed trikes. The Liberty looks pretty good to me. Except for no fat tires, those appeal to me. Thanks for this review !!!

That is great your getting a farm in Texas. What made you pick that location? Are you a nomad camper person too? Curious as i live both of those things. Im wanting to create a microfarm collective for like minded nomad campers, a home base as well as a place to grow real food and crafters of soap, fiber, knitter, cheese..etc van sell right there to tourists, and licals.
@vantastic_dreamer4 жыл бұрын
Cherrie Mckinstry hi! I actually had thought about doing something like that to in the beginning. But then I realized that it might not be a safe idea for my kids to have a bunch of nomads running around my property that I don’t personally know or they don’t have background checks. I just want to have a place for my dogs to run around maybe a few chickens and a place to work on my vintage campers that I collect. I think I want to grow some food but just enough for the family maybe some friends. I like to make soap so maybe I could sell my soaps,bath bombs and the candles that I make. I am able to travel during the year and go back-and-forth to my home base and then go back on the road. My husband ‘s job is coming to an end here in Las Vegas so we’re forced to find another place to live. His other job opportunity is in Waco Texas and I’m originally from Texas then moved to Oklahoma at 13 which is now my home state. Most of my family lives in San Antonio but I’m only in contact with a few family members but the best ones.But the amount of money were spending on rent here we could have a acreage then we can all stretch out and do our hobbies . I could get on the road and go to a lot more destinations within seven days of my house and then come back to recharge. With the weather being so severe here on the side of the country it’s not as easy to get out as many days during the year especially during our extreme heat season which is basically the end of April all the way till the end of October. I will offer my friends a place to stay though on my property with electric hook ups and showers. When my youngest finishes school I hope to go full- time with a homebase farm in Texas.Sorry such a long response! Haha
