What ifs were probably the best nba videos to watch. It’s just entertainment & it’s very entertaining

You don't put the apostrophe in "What ifs". It's totally fine tho. Love the content
@user-bw6pt9dy6f2 жыл бұрын
great video Rusty. The biggest problem with what ifs is that u can easily make a case for or against everyone. In the end its just a matter of liking or disliking a team or player if u play the what if game. Cause if do like/dislike a team or a player u ll find for sure some what ifs through the years to promote ur narrative or ur biased opinion. Example of a what if game: Lebron What if Lebron was drafted by the Lakers or the Celtics? What if Draymond Green wasnt suspended in 2016 Finals? What if Kyrie and/or Love werent injured in 2015 Finals? What if Ray Allen missed that shot in 2013 Finals? What if KD didnt join GW in 2016? What if Lebron didnt join Miami creating a superteam? If u play that what if game Lebron could have from 0 to 6-7 rings right now. So in the end the what if game is just stupid and u cant really prove anything by using it, do cant even win an argument using what ifs. Another misconception using what ifs is that someone ASSUMES all things and parameters will stay the same and only difference will be the change created by the what if. But many parameters themselves would change if that what if happened, those parameters wouldnt stay the same, they would change just because of the what if. What if KD didnt join GW? GW wouldnt win the following years, right? Nope, they could still win in the following years by simply having the same core or if they added another superstar as Leonard or Giannis or anyone. Does someone think that the smart front office of GW would just sit there doing nothing if KD wanted to go to another team instead of GW? See the problem with what ifs?

We should call what if's what they are: fan fiction. I don't mean that as an insult. Good fan fiction explores how things would have played out if a few elements had been different or gone another way; bad fan fiction fundamentally rewrites everything into a more basic narrative where the people the writer likes succeed & the people they don't fail. The same is true of what if's.

I literally just made the same allusion! What-ifs are just fan fiction for sports fans

This is something I've learned about myself I've realized sports are only fun if you enjoy it. If I get irrationally angry at refs or start getting angry at players. I turn it off and reset. Loss and losing happens. We can accept the hurt but let's be joyful when a team wins even against a teams they should win.

Well done Rusty, this one was very well done and a very solid take on the ‘what if’ issue. You acknowledged the good that can come from them while clearly outlining the bad that does regularly come from them, particularly in the media. Keep doing deep dives man, the quality is always good, and the direction you’re going in as far as what you dive into keeps improving every time. You’re really keying in on amazing things to think about more deeply.

These points you’re making are the EXACT SHIT I’ve been saying to my nba friends for YEARS! No, it is NEVER a certainty that if something different were to happen, it would change the outcome.
@halion44872 жыл бұрын
I much preferred this video to some of your other longer videos. In there longer ones you tended to repeat points without elaborating them each time, and it felt more disorganized. But this was for refined and entertaining with the cinematography. Excellent video and can’t wait for more if they keep coming like this one.

As a Bucks fan it always made me laugh hearing about how we should’ve lost and our title is invalid because “wHaT iF kD’s ShOe WaS a SiZe SmAlLeR?” Well it wasn’t. And while the margin was razor thin, the correct call on the floor was made. Zzz

Yeah but what if it was a size smaller 😂😂
@wilderac22502 жыл бұрын
I hear more what if’s than that as bucks fan. -what if KD wore a smaller shoe size? -what if kyrie didn’t get injured while falling on giannis’ body? -what if Trae didn’t get hurt by that ref? -what if the Lakers, or Nuggets or Clippers or Nets were healthy? -what if Ben Simmons actually made shots in the 4th quarter? -what if Middleton miss the game winner At game one in Miami and the heat win? The list goes on and on 🙄
@tashied4222 жыл бұрын
As a Suns fan, I can relate to this wholeheartedly. I personally don't complain about the Bucks winning the championship, despite CP3 being injured. The Suns didn't find a way to win, and that's that. All they can do now is try again.
@narinderlall53842 жыл бұрын
As a raptors fan, I can relate to it, what if KD didn’t get injured, you can only play who is in front of you, doesn’t devalue a championship
@kkjwdfjopwekfjopcdsxzdfsdf39672 жыл бұрын
Might as well include: - What if Giannis was not a 7 footer who moves like a guard. - What if Jrue Holiday was not the best defensive guard in the NBA. - What if Khris Middleton wasnt Michael Jordan in the finals. It so stupid how many people treat hypotheticals as facts.

The problem I have with the Derrick Rose What IF's is that he hurt his Knees/Legs so many times that it became obvious that there was something legitimately wrong with his style of play or at the least how he approached Jumping. I remember watching him back in the day thinking goodness he's explosive doesn't his knees hurt landing like that? And what do you know a year later a knee injury, then another, then etc. I remember saying the same thing about Zion Williamson at Duke, and since being in the Pros he's had one minor knee injury and another significant foot injury. Ppl mocked me for saying it, but the evidence is what it is. These are Not comments I make about every explosive player I see, but when I see particularly violent impact on a players body & they don't seem to acknowledge it in how they play, or know how to meter or mitigate their intensity, I only expect the worst. It's just a matter of time. The only player that kinda has defied that outcome from violent dunking at a small size & had a lengthy career is Russell Westbrook; and I think he did it by embracing pick & roll point guard play as a device in his game. Something to this day DRose hasn't embraced eventhough he's good at just about everything off the dribble. It spared Russ's legs & gave him another way to impact the game other than driving & finishing in traffic. Even as Russ athleticism fades in his 30s (as we see him miss dunks & layups) he can catch a body in a highlight dunk occasionally like he did on Gobert weeks ago.

Just finished. Incredible. I think especially the clips of fans as their team loses big games, nobody really watches those things happen much. They get the crying fans who’ve waited so long for greatness, but never the fan who waited so long but their team still lost. Incredible video. Blew me away. I’m happy what-ifs built NBA KZbin into what it is, hell, I remember watching the start of it in 2015, but I’m willing to accept the negatives of that situation

Also can't stop thinking about that NBA Storyteller vid about Rose, a player's "gait," and all the problems that come with it. Forty years old too so also love living in the past, romanticising it outta all proportion and denying reality.
