Jaylen Brown is a shooting guard. Forgot that one. Plus he just signed the largest contract in NBA history

People are heated in the comments, but it's hard to deny that Stockton didn't "farm" assists with the help of Malone. This is a big reason of why he's the assist leader, and him being the assist leader is one of the main reason why some people mention him and put him on some lists. You are allowed to get assists this way, no doubt, but a lot of you are in denial and think he's the best playmaker in the history of the NBA.

Nowadays, the ideal team is as follows: the PG is required to be a combo guard (score and playmake). 2-3 are all swingmen (sg-sf tweener that can defend and shoot) and a stretch big

Players shouldn’t have this much power. You’re a employee not the boss. Know your damn role. The NFL gets it right. You never see a nfl player forcing a trade or acting like a spoiled diva cause the NFL puts their foot down and doesn’t let it happen. NBA needs to follow suit

I'm pretty sure that he is in both these top lists. You can dislike a player but saying dumb stuff and not giving a player credit is wrong. You are the kind of person to spread lies and try to change history to fit your agenda.

It is remarkable how similar the Popovich-Duncan relationship is to the Belichick-Brady relationship in the NFL.

I like how someone said that making the floor wider to remove the corner 3 would help lmao. It would create even more spacing and totally f*ck the defense up, terrible idea.

12:03 That's fucking amazing!!!! NOW the modern format makes sense!!! If you have a jokic who can shoot, his guard aka the big will be pulled out of the paint opening the way for everyone including the big if he can drive. Now a big with better fundamentals become necessary and you dont need a guy that big anymore since rebounding will be less likely due to easy points, and then comes Gsw with Draymond green. When you focus too much on getting good on how things are already done you lose the chance to break the mode and create something even better and exciting, most of the times simply because we lack confidence to try and persuade. I think Dirk gave them the hint on what they were lacking.

The position isn't needed because of the reliance on 3 point shooting. You don't need a underbasket rebounder if an off placed long distance shot bounces outside the key.

The "power/small" forward thing is a relatively modern idea. Years ago, you were just a "forward." Now, in retrospect, Bailey Howell, because of his rebounding excellence is considered a "power forward," and I would think Rick Barry would be a "small forward." Smaller guys who could play forward or guard were, and still are "swing men," but they are, when in the forward position, called "small forwards," now. The three point line is the basis of much of the change. Most forwards, big or small, are expected to be able to at least contribute a 3 now and then, and many of them are expected to be great at 3s. Kevin McHale would be a power forward today if he were of playing age, and he'd be great even though not a 3 point threat. He would be the exception. Most NBA teams today have at least three guys on the floor who have the skills that guards used to have, and that includes the small forward, of course. There are still power forwards, but they have to be more versatile unless blessed with insane moves in the paint that a guy like McHale had. So yeah, technically Jason Tatum would be considered a "power forward" now, unless Horford and a center were on the court with him.

West had 4 2nd place MVP finishes. The other 4 guys combined for 3. Plus West ranks higher than everyone else on most all time rankings. Dont see how he isn't #1 on this list. Also dont see how Clyde isn't 5th or off the board entirely if you include Thomas. 1. West 2. Wade 3. Thomas 4. CP3 5. Baylor

Focusing on only shooting and not focusing on rebounding, blocks and steals don't paint the overall picture, a one dimensional analysis.

Another thing that struck me watching this video again was that a lot of these successful modern 2 guards you mentioned are failed point guards(ie. Jalen Suggs, Derrick White)

The one thing I will say about the team structure proposal of a PG, 3 wings, and a big, is that, as you have said multiple times on your channel, you cannot fully rely on one person creating your offense to win a championship. You are going to have to have a base level of creation and playmaking from at least one of your other starters.

It always fails to amaze me how people forget that Magic played CENTER the entire game in an NBA championship and won the championship! Kareem was injured How many point guards you know can do that in this league🤔🤔 Damn right he's top 5. He's probably the most versatile of ALL point guards. He can play ALL 5 POSITIONS. CASE CLOSED...The rest of y'all st*u..!🤣🤣🤣

93 suns were the best team jordan faced in the finals. They were the first high powered 3 pt shooting offense. They were the warriors before the warriors. Very similar in playing style. They had Barkley, Johnson, thunder Dan, dumas, aigne, chambers, ceballos, they were loaded. Having said that I think the 96 bulls beat that 2017-18 warriors team. I think it goes 7 games but there’s nobody on golden state guarding jordan so it would be like the 93 suns series with Jordan averaging probably 41 points a game. Harper and pippen would have gave curry and Durant problems, jordan would have shut down Klay, and Rodman vs green would have been a battle. Both had a great bench. Definitely would have been a great series.
