I do it that way but I add a corn starch or flour mixture to form a little gravy and scoop it onto mashed potatoes, I don’t make it to thick but man is it delicious

Good video, brother. Thanks for sharing a method that doesn't involve a pressure cooker.

I'am going to try some thing different on fried squirrel. Going to soak it in a HEAVY baking soda brine over night. IT SHOULD make the meat tender, juicy, and delicious. > Cause i do steaks and pork chops this way! Once out of the brine. RISEN IT OFF GOOD, IN WARM WATER. You can see, and feel the pour on the, chop and steaks open up > Pat dry. i like to use melted butter all over it , then season it> Pork chops i use ground cinnamon, and chicken bouillon with my seasonings, On steaks beef bouillon and my seasonings. Let it hang out for a hour to soak up the seasoning. Then i take them out to the pit and smoke it. Then flame broil them YUM Some time they drink up the oil or butter > just brush some more on them. Give them a good glaze

I soak mine in buttermilk. The acidity tenderizes it and milk allows the flour to stick good

We put the cooked squirrels in ice water mix, pick the meat off the bone a lot easier on the fingers. Looks great IMHO.👍👍👍

Yea Dad fry's them in an electric skillet ( spices to taste ) till crunchy , then drains it and steams them in a bit of water with lid on adding as needed till they fall off the bone . Brown Gravy, mashed Tators and corn . Yummo

Should just be skin, rinse well to get all that hair off, and toss in the pot.
