Tbh I haven't watched the video nor read the 4 comments. Just wanted to swoop in and drop the observation that despite the good intentions of educational efforts like this one, some of us with certain types of dyslexia simply can't keep track of the various codes regardless of earnest study. I've got my Ph.D. in planetary science, good at my job and research, but even after typing a 243 page thesis, a 250 page dissertation and unknown thousands of pages of reports, briefings, proposals, reviews etc etc... I still can't exactly locate most keys on the keyboards I've spent literally years using. It's like a fuzzy jamming filter springs up and blocks the exact specifics (until you direct your attention elsewhere. then it'll spring up into your thoughts regardless of the context. Can I call you back with that name when I think of it at 3 a.m.?!). So, for me, CW without automation is simply a non-starter. At a breakfast meeting I had to insist to an Elmer for at least 20 minutes that after striving strong several times over the years I was just never going to become functional in CW. Alas, but reality.

Thank for sharing your experience and knowledge. I am also new. Passed my technical and taking General next week. Yeah 👍! I have not made a call as of yet. But soon. Setting up my BF-F8HP / UV5R 3rd gen. Yes, tough to make first call. A little confusing on setting up repeaters. Maybe discuss that. Thanks again.

Thank you for dropping by! Just think of the buzz you'll get from making that first call. Repeaters would be an excellent topic to cover in a future video, thanks for the suggestion.

Another good source for learning Morse code is the Long Island CW club. Small yearly club fee gets you unlimited free online classes through Zoom. Lots of info on various KZbin videos about this club . This club was started with the idea of getting more people into CW. They are an inviting bunch of people and have members from all over the world. I recently joined myself as I am a beginner just starting my CW journey. Thanks for your info.

I've heard of that club but haven't look them up. Will be doing though, thanks for the suggestion!
