Rode that area in February, everything they discussed is true, a must see for everyone. The Sky Islands are magical.

Incredible film work, I have seen each of the documentaries from the first Thereabouts 1 in Australia, until the last one in the Balkans, and transmits the essence of cycling, the deepest thing in this sport. Adventure, Challenge, Companionship, Suffering, Effort, Sacrifice, Discovery, Self-improvement, but above all HAPPINESS A big applause for the whole CREW, mainly for Gus and Lachan keep it up Hopefully one day I can do a week-long adventure with my friends riding a bike through my country Ecuador.

What an amazing short film. Sort of goes without saying that it was beautifully shot. The combo of voice over and talking head interviews kept a really nice flow. The way you've combine the spot with the issues makes everything so relatable. I literally couldn't take notes fast enough. Inspirational for sure, nice touches of friendly faces...is lael ever NOT smiling? Brilliant, just brilliant.

Beautiful part of our country, you made yourselves proud with your effort. Well done! You mentioned a number of "dots" and the one that really captured my attention was the government's treatment of humanitarian aid. That particular dot is separate from the political issue and anyone's position. Care and concern of our brothers and sisters on this earth should be everyone's concern. The semantical games played between "walls" and "fences" is embarrassing. The need to control the egress of people across borders is a very real concern in this world. The best way to do it remains to be seen...

Over the last 20 yrs of riding & racing in this area the biggest change I've noted is in the attitudes & demeanor of the border patrol. The BP has gone from a group of humanitarian public servants (many of whom I've ridden bikes with) to a bunch of sadists that acts more like an urban gang.

Let's put on our thinking caps. Are there alternate measures that could be taken? How about supporting legislative changes that would work together to lessen the impact. For instance: change anchor baby laws; mandate e-verify systems to dissuade illegal aliens; substantial fines for employers who incorporate illegal aliens (IAs); enforce asylum laws that mandate asylum seekers register for asylum at first country they come to; quick turn around for processing asylum requests; follow the immigration laws for folks who want to immigrate; if you are caught entering illegally you forfeit immigration privilege; no welfare programs for illegal aliens; liberal taxation on remittances sent to alien homelands; no bilingual education systems; felony charges and loss of immigration privileges for illegal aliens claiming children are theirs when they are not; jail time and or stiff fines for elected officials of sanctuary cities, counties, and states; send illegal aliens to sanctuary cities so they can demonstrate their 'love and compassion'; no drivers licenses for IAs; no voting for IAs; restore "are you a citizen" on census forms toward preventing skewed congressional representation. In a nutshell remove the economic incentive for IAs. All this would go a long long way toward resolving the problems you mention. So let me ask who do you think you will be voting for in the upcoming 2020 elections and future elections? Oh, I thought so. It really is pretty simple, you have not given ONE effective measure toward reducing the impacts to the land, only a bunch of belly aching. I guess you really don't care about either the land or the people affected by the circumstances. Another suggestion, sell your bikes and donate the money toward electing someone who has a desire to do something effective toward resolving the border situation. Then you would need to worry about waiving 38 laws (perhaps you would propose enforcing a few immigration laws?) or have to lie about Border Patrol agents being "having no accountability", eh?

Oh yes, and a couple more common sense immigration measures: Reform of our crazy chain migration laws; immigration on a merit basis vs a lottery system. PS: I spent the majority my career working in large US wilderness areas on trail crews, biotech, range tech, outfitter-guide permit administrator, and as a wilderness manager. I also came across this video via a link in the Adventure Cyclist newsletter, of which I am a member. I do value our recreation opportunities and ecosystems, but I as have been blessed with a health dose of common sense.

@@broadfjord7087 I hate nature lol jk. I just want to see this guy ride his bike man so much, guess I just had this standard in my mind. I'd watch Gus and his brother ride their bikes through a landfill hell. This propaganda comment is directed to nothing in particular pertaining to video except I live near the Texas Mexico border and I just don't want to hear people's opinions that have no clue about what's going on. Having said that, I love all people man and also welcome any one good person right into my own community.
