Ruth Wilsons Red Carpet Makeup

I recently made up the actress Ruth Wilson for a Harpers Bazaar red carpet event. Her makeup was one of the most requested looks I have been asked to recreate. Ruth Wilson is best known for her role as Alison in the Sky Atlantic series The Affair. You may also know her from BBC’s Luther, for her role as a psychopathic killer and last year, Ruth wrote directed and starred in the BBC series, Mrs Wilson, which is a true story based on her grandmothers life. Most recently, she has appeared in the BBC adaptation of, His Darkest Materials which launched in the UK a few weeks ago. Giorgio Armani sponsored the drama, His Darkest Materials and therefore gifted the makeup for the red carpet event.
So this is the look I created for Ruths red carpet event using many gorgeous makeup products from the Giorgio Armani Beauty range. I hope you love it, its a really sophisticated makeup which is all about achieving a long lasting perfect base. This look would be great for Christmas parties or any events you might be attending.

I think we all are all too familiar with a foundation application that flattens your face with one color & no dimension. I watch your foundation & concealer application so closely to get that soft dimension around my eyes. And I agree with you about waking up in the dark. Worse is when it's dark in the early evening! Makes winter so dreary.

I love that Armani concealer, I've been using it every day for a few months now. The first time I put it on my late 40s skin I was giddy because I haven't had a concealer be this easy to apply since I had 20-year old skin! It's expensive but you only need a little bit, and I haven't even put a dent in the amount of product. I have to try those shadows, I'm a huge fan of the Armani Eye Tints. Caroline, would you one day do a look using the Eyes To Kill in Midnight? I'd love to see a modern navy eye that's gorgeous but not too overdone.

I think your "pink" skin is beautiful ! You should show it off more in my opinion. I like all skintypes, but I always think people look best with the skin they are born with. Enhanced with makeup or not :) I have a pink tone myself, but I would also put cool or neutral tones on my own skin. But often people say that i'm very pale, but I take it as a compliment even I know they mean I should get a tan, but I can't get "brown" always burn, so why try at all. Spf 50 and THEN I go in the sun. But I like the the make-up very much Caroline, I just like your better with your pink tone. Not that I think you care about my opinion :)

Hi Caroline, I so want to try that concealer but will have to purchase online. I’m a 4 in the Charlotte Tilbury concealer, Santa Fe in Nars sheer glow and a Fairly Light in Bare Mimerals, I am a neutral skin tone, any idea what shade would suit me please, I’m thinking maybe a three?
