A home that is clean but lived in is a beautiful blessing and having fingerprints on the refrigerator is a sure sign of a home with lots of shared meals made with ❤ Those kids don’t know it yet but one day they will come to realize what a beautiful childhood they had ! We don’t see those things until we mature and look back.

Fabulous video ⭐️⭐️⭐️. I love the that you spoke of the essential oil facts, they are incredible hormone disrupters for our bodies. In a multi million $ industry no one seems to speak of all the downsides. I have some rendered tallow in my freezer just sitting there and you’ve inspired me to make some skin lotion to use for , heading into to our 🇨🇦 winter. Thanks so much, God bless you and your precious family R A .

I decided I wanted tallow to make my soaps so I asked a friend who has cattle would he save me the suet when he butchered. I came home one day and there was a laundry basket full from three cows kidneys still attached. It took me days to render it and purify it. I made the most wonderful soap everyone loved it. I quit soap making and still had containers full of tallow so I added peanut butter and bird seed and the winter birds got to enjoy it.

We started years ago buying a cow yearly at our local fair. Both my husband and myself were active in 4-H and FFA ( future farmers of America) in our youth. The fairs do an auction of animals raised and the proceeds go to support the youth and clubs. The processing buthchers will cut the meat to your preference and you can request all the fat ( tallow) and bones ( for beef stock) be saved. We haven't bought any lotion, soap, shampoo or laundry soap in years. We also use our tallow for frying foods ( taste extra delicious). On a side note, my husband had the worst sun burn of his life a few years back. I slathered him in our tallow lotion ( tallow and castor oil) for several days and he never peeled and the pain subsided quicker than expected.

I told my Rheumatologist that I gave up Bath & Bodyworks 5 years ago because of my skin issues ( which were all precursors to my arthritis.) The doctor replied, " GREAT! That stuff is terrible for you!" What goes on your skin everyday is as important as what you out in it everyday.
@Minnehaha649 сағат бұрын
SURPRISE!!! What fun! I woke up to the nasty stuff they were putting in our personal care items about 8 years ago (wow! That long???) I've made my own lotion ever since, but resisted using tallow because of the price. Maybe I should revisit that idea. I also keep vitamin E oil. I rubbed it into my 2-year-old's face after she had stitches in her forehead (from falling downstairs while I was nursing her sister!) The scar almost completely went away and you cannot see it at all now (she is 35). It also makes your lotions, etc. last longer. I totally agree with your philosophy about why you make your lotion the way you do, and your way of dealing with your children. You have your priorities straight. We could hold up a lot of things we're hard-nosed about to the light of Christ's work on the cross, and discover it isn’t a hill to die on!
@rnupnorthbrrrsm61235 сағат бұрын
I used to get tallow for free from the butcher but now that people are starting to use it again, some of them want a fortune for it. So look around you can still find it reasonably priced.

I use an organic RBD coconut oil that is for cooking for baking and for moisturizing it is kosher and it is put up by p r a s a d a in Portland Oregon. What I love about the coconut oil is it's very very light and it is solid at room temperature so it's easy to carry and it said it just sinks into my skin much easier than Olive Oil which I used to always use a few drops in my other moisturizers.
@lotofhankins19 сағат бұрын
Wet rendering definitely helps. We do it with water and salt in a croc pot then let it harden in a rounded bowl in the fridge pop the hardened tallow out leaving the grit and water behind. Then repeat a few times until it’s essentially odorless. Then we let that hardened tallow air out a habit for a day or so and then melt it down and add to jars. My girls use whipped tallow for a face balm now and love it

It was so nice hearing that some else has used Vitamin E oil for cradle cap. I used it with all 3 of my little ones who are now adults. I am going to see if my meat farmer can sell me some tallow. I've never tried it. I never use makeup either. I'm 63 and people always compliment me on my skin. No big wrinkles yet. :) Thank you so much for this information!!

Thank you for the tallow advice. My dog loves when I put on tallow. Yes my tallow has the beefy smell. This is a new trial I'm attempting. No matter how much commercial moisturizer I put on my skin I was constantly dry. So I started a tallow trial and I'm happy with the results. My dermatologist said my skin has never looked better. I have eczema and an allergy to perfumes and artificial scents. Recently I read advice from an expert to stop using all perfumes because it contains a known carcinogen. The scent trade puts the chemical into perfume so the smell lasts longer but it's a proven carcinogen. I'll keep watching to see if I can make no scent tallow.

Thank you Roseanne for telling people the dangers of essential oils. I also make tallow lotion. Love it. Also our food now says natural flavors is also essential oils and other chemicals. Nothing natural. To read more about the dangers of essential oils " April Graham's book, Essentially Deadly. Please read this book before you use oils. I also would only use them sparingly as medicine.

I have been using essential oils daily for over 20 years - ravensara, clary sage, raven, digize, thieves, peppermint, eucalyptus, marjoram, lemon and even some blends I have created. The only problem I have is bees will find me immediately when I go outside. I will find this girls book and see if there is any relevance to it for me. I am always willing to listen to all sides then use discernment to make sure I am not being misled.

The tallow I bought seems to be already whipped and soft and it is 100 % beef tallow ...so I just had to stir n mix in the other oil and whatever essential oils that I wanted that are good for the skin. I really enjoyed it... I have psoriasis really bad and it's been helping it.

@Abigail567832 секунд бұрын
@Happymum5 Sure! You can also do a search online, and there are a lot of recipes out there. I melt 4 TB coconut oil, 3 TB Shea Butter (optional), mix in 3/4 cup arrowroot powder or cornstarch, 2 TB baking soda. Mix, let it get firm, and use pea size amounts under arms. You can also add essential oils or whatever you'd like. I add mandelic acid just as an extra measure against odor causing bacteria. Also, baking soda is irritating for some, so that can be left out.

If you have an Amish or Mennonite community near you and they do retail butchering, you may be able to buy tallow fat from them. That's where we get ours in NE Missouri. Most people don't request the fat from the meat they have butchered, so we either buy it from the Amish or sometimes they actually just give it to us. It's amazing stuff to wear and cook with. And the chickens love tallow scratch grain treats, especially in the winter time.
