Thanks Ruth. Skin care, growing up, was always Cleanse, Tone, Moisturize. Then came my sun spots, rosacea, lines, broken capillaries, dehydration....in other words, aging and life. I have been wanting to try these items but am always a little leery asking for help at the store as pushing products (albeit well intentioned) is what ends up happening. I feel like I am better equipped now, and will start with these more economical options. Thanks again!

Absolutely love this! I get so stressed about trying to afford good skincare, I saved up for ages to buy the Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day serum and no matter how I use it I get a really bad reaction (I know it's just my skin not the product but was very disappointing as it was such a big purchase for me). These types of videos are so important for those of us that feel the pressure, thank you!

I use a face mist then a concoction of hyaluronic and collagen (inkey list) immediately on top, then a moisturiser atm olay tinted and leave my skin naked at night to breathe and repair just a spritz of face mist which my favourite is Sarah Chapman, I read long ago about letting your skin breathe at night rather than clog it up, it works.

I really enjoy all The ordinary retinols. Started with the emulsion then moved to the range in squalane . I’ve had no peeling. I’ve tried more expensive and higher levels of retinol and found I couldn’t use them everyday even after building up. The ordinary saves me money and I can use them everyday.

On the hyaluronic acid, it's much more effective if your face is damp before applying (and you definitely need to use a moisturizer after). I use tretinoin daily and the Good Molecules hyaluronic acid has made a huge difference in flaky skin. The Ordinary also has another mask, the AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution, which I use once a week. It is wonderful!

All of a sudden all the acid products are breaking me out. Switched to body shop aloe Vera moisturiser for a bit of minimalism and it’s the best thing I’ve done. My skin is so calm and smooth and hydrated. Can’t help but think we are getting duped in to piling a lot of rubbish on to our faces.

I keep trying salyclic acid for my spotty chin and I feel all it does is make it worse. I've tried it daily for 6 weeks and once a week for 6 weeks but it just seems to make me break out even more. Is there anything else anyone could recommend?

@@RuthCrilly I've use a few, I tried la Roche posay effeclar and one from sk:n when I had a consultation there.
@MAR.98985 жыл бұрын
Hi, I'm not an expert but I read somewhere that because salicylic acid is pretty drying, it can cause dead skin cells to build up in the chin and make acne worse. It could also be purging, though it seems like it's taken too long for that. I'd probably try a different acid, maybe glycolic, and moisturizing really well. Also, if you have any dietary sensitivities like dairy, it could be related to that so topical treatments wouldn't necessarily make a difference. Good luck!

I have read somewhere that vitamin c stops working the second it comes in contact with oxygen. How does that work with the moisturizer?
@RuthCrilly5 жыл бұрын
Both here are formulated to be as stable as possible so that they are as effective as they can be when they make contact with the skin. If they were encapsulated then probably more effective, but these are really good. x
