@@NitpickingNerds it mainly centers around the dislike for the face commander and that people don't like aggressive decks(?) Basically that she doesn't give you enough in terms of tokens, tho I'd argue 6/4 spread across 2 bodies(for her first cast) and an anthem is pretty solid in a go wide deck.

She will play better than she looks. For 4 she makes 6 power, for 6 she makes 9 power. Not even counting any other humans you have. Maybe people are just not doing math 😂

An interesting thing I see with Jirina is that from her second cast onwards, she combos with Ashnod's Altar and Pitiless Plunderer. The trio creates infinite mana, ETB, deathrattles, and cast triggers in a "off-brand food chain" kind of way.

I’m really looking forward to a good home for Tajic, Blade of the Legion and Assemble the Legion. Although, the idea of playing a Kelsion deck and equipping him with Basilisk Collar and Thornbite Staff has me excited.

I'm a huge fan of you mentioning the Fiend Hunter combo. 16:20 This is also the reason why I'd pick Silvar and Trynn for the command zone, rather than Jirina, who does more when you have partner commanders instead of just her anyway. Silvar functions as your sac-outlet for Fiend Hunter. Can be a combo piece in the command zone. My version of this deck would be heavily built around the combo.

Yeah we didn't want to lean to hard into the combo for a precon upgrade, so it's just something cool that you can pull off some games. In a regular deck tech we would go harder in on it

Jirina is also a combo piece in the command zone. With Ashnod's Altar and Nim Deathmantle you go infinite. All you need is one of many aristocrats and everybody is donezo.

I think you guys nailed the power of this Commander in your human tribal video. People who think Jirina is underwhelming were probably thinking she would be cast early on alone or that she prob caps out at 3 casts (still 12 pwr for 8 mana). However casting her with some humans on the board is absolutely insane. I also think her power to let you reset on board wipes is underrated.

Jirina is pretty under rated tbqh, having played the deck for since it dropped, she’s diffently the second best out of the three Mardu Commanders, Trynn and silvar being first, and the other dude (i forget his name atm) being third Ok i’ll admit though, her effect is not the best, but hear me out, this is a token centered deck, play cards that allow to create multiple tokens, then with the decks other non-token creatures basically giving you free +1/+1 counters all across the board, including Jirina giving +2/0 to ALL Humans, AND having access to white, there are cards in this color that can give you tokens Hexproof, vigilance, double strike etc. Personally the way you play her is you diffently need to build a board state first, playing creatures and spells that give you free tokens like Precinct captain, which whenever it deals combat damage, you make a token, Raise the alarm, an instant that gives you 2 free tokens, and my personal fave for the deck Entrapment Maneuver, which at instant speed, target player has to sacrifice a attacking creature, and you create X 1/1 white soldiers where X is the destroyed creatures toughness, cast that if say Ghalta primal hunger was attacking you, or even a big eldrazi, those tokens arrive ready for duty. the only issue though is ramping, yes you have access to blacks ramp cards like Dark ritual, and reds other spells, but white dosent really have much in ways of ramping, not to my knowledge at least.

At first, I was intrigued by making a human tribal deck, though at first i was a bit uncertain with the head commander, who doesn't look as ridiculously powerful as some of the other commanders, like that insect graveyard guy. That said, after watching this and listening to your take I'm definitely more excited for it! the angel of glory's rise combo seemed like quite a lot of fun too! something I noticed, but the Cavalry Pegasus gives Each human flying, not just one. I feel that could be a lot more useful in a go wide human tribal deck really.

Garna doesn’t just count creatures that died. It counts the creatures you milled into your graveyard with Syr Konrad.

Queen Marchesa is just a really good card. You will feel a little less oomph with your attacks and going wide won't be AS effective with her, so maybe you'd want to add like 1-2 budget tutors and/or 1-2 more good anthem effects. But on the flipside she will draw you a ton of cards and you'll always be able to snag the monarch back

I had the same ideas with daredevil but there are some fails in this video if you ask me. First you want to put garna but actually she is in the deck! Second if you use falkenrath aristocrat then you should use yahenni aswell, similiar ability but he grows when oppenent creature dies and if you sack a creature then he gets indestructible and another fail and its bothers my mind if you use castle embereth why the hell you dont use castle ardenvale. If you dont want board wipe and want to use Mikareus and another sac creature definetly deck needs it. Overall there are good ideas in the video and i like it. Good work!

@@NitpickingNerds a little bit of both. It takes longer to get Gwyn's engine going than it would to get Jirina in my opinion plus I like a go wide strategy more than narrow/Voltron. I haven't really had a lot of good games with my Gwyn deck. It's just a bunch of cool Knights cards to look at. 😂

There is just one point I would disagree with...of course you want board wipes in a deck like this. Just not too many and they have to be one sided. Winds of abandon, in Garruks wake and the new mardu ultimatum all would fit this strategy perfectly. The best place for 3/1 tokens to actually get work done is on an empty board. XD
