Not here in Oregon, but our deer seasons are over well before the rut. Did see some good rutting action with "bench leg deer" on the east side of Mt. Hood during the elk season. Bench leg deer as theh are locally known are hybrids between blacktail and mule deer.

Not this year. Searched for cow elk for 10 days, going back out on the 31st to try and harvest one.

Emotions run high anytime I watch hunting videos. This channel, Randy Newberg, is maybe my most favorite channel. When Maecus(?) spread his fathers ashes I caught my breath. I am so incredibly fortunate that I still with my mentor, my father. He will be 92 years young in March and I look forward to hunting with him this fall. He was there for my first deer 57 years ago and has been with me on many other successful and not so successful hunting trips. FAMLY is so important in making forever memories. Marcus(?) thank you for honoring your father. Judging your actions tells me, without meeting him, he endowed you with incredible grace and hunting memories. THANK YOU for remembering him!!!

I love Marcus' enthusiasm! Its contagious. I finally managed to get my first buck this year after 10 plus years of of trying. I wish I could have shared it with my mother who passed just a couple of weeks before. Somehow how I know she had something to do with my success.. She was always so supportive of my trotting around in the southwest desert. Congrats guys! Look forward to the ezt episode.

It did this year here in Montana
@MarcusHockett4 жыл бұрын
Surveys say that Montana hunters prefer opportunity over quality of bucks. So MT Fish Wildlife and Parks manages for that. We have a general rifle season that runs through the deer rut. Often this makes for a younger age class of bucks. That being said, you will still notice a big difference in age class depending on whenever the last hard winter was.

That road being open is pretty doubtful. If the road is closed its closed, whether or not it can only be acessed from private or not. Sadly, a closed road does not deter many people, I see it year after year.

Marcus I have a question for you did you injure your leg or something when you were younger my left leg does the same exact thing I have slow myself down a lot of times when I’m packing in to somewhere gives me fits just noticed that I’ve got mcl acl injuries do you use custom foot beds or the stock kenetreks mine give me fits after a couple miles in them wondering if a custom footbed would help thanks in advance
@MarcusHockett4 жыл бұрын
I had a couple back surgeries in which some nerves were hit and I have a drop-foot on my left foot. Also a replaced acl on the left. I use the Kenetrek Guide Ultras. They have a plastic brace in the side of the boot.
@Kmgarcia20014 жыл бұрын
@@MarcusHockett I’m really gonna have to try those out. my back is bad as well I do concrete for work. I’ve just avoided the surgery my acl as well messed that up in sports never got it fixed something I’m assuming I’ll just have to get used to in time I run the mountain extreme 400 and after say 3-4 miles itll give me a fit mainly from it constantly rolling and I live in Arizona so lots of rocky steep stuff as you know I’ll have to buy that version next season much appreciated though!! Glad I found someone with a related issue to me thought I might just have to go to some other sort of brand even but maybe the ankle support with the guides will help out
@Kmgarcia20014 жыл бұрын
And a drop foot brace that would be amazing for support my heel doesn’t even touch the ground on that side . I’ve seen some braces but most you can purchase are bulky I need a custom I’m thinking
