Ruud Breuls (1962) graduated from the Hilversum (nowadays Amsterdam) Conservatory in 1988. In 1996 he became the Metropole Orkest's (jazz) trumpet soloist. In 2014 he joined the WDR Big Band in Köln. He is one of the most-in-demand trumpet soloists of the Dutch and European jazzscene. He played a.o. with the Jazzorchestra of the Concertgebouw, in Bob Brookmeyer's New Art Orchestra etc. During his career Ruud was a sideman on some 300+ albums (jazz and pop) with people like Joachim Kühn, Lee Konitz, Clark Terry, Bud Shank, Chris Potter, Herbie Hancock, John Scofield, Randy and Michael Brecker. In 2009 he made his first album under his own name "Shades of Brown" dedicated to the music of the late trumpet great Clifford Brown.
Concertmaster/violinist Arlia de Ruiter (1960) is a member of the Metroipole Orkest since the mid-eigthies.
