As someone who hasn't been into the game for many many years, your videos inspired me to dig out my old cards. I thought I remembered having some pretty awesome and possibly expensive vintage cards but I realized I had almost nothing of value when I looked up the prices a bit ago haha. The most expensive card in my collection I found was a Dark Palidan from DMG (Duel Masters Guide with the DVD and Yugi and Kaibi structure decks). Was kind of disappointing that I realized I didn't have much special but I really enjoy your videos man, bringing back so many great memories of playing with friends from school, going to card shops on the weekend with my Dad buying cards that looked cool :) Makes me wish I had kept playing and collecting and I sometimes get the urge to get back in but seeing your videos everyday scratches that itch enough for me lol. Thanks for the insane daily content man. I look forward to your videos every day cause you're always opening up something crazy.
In 2002, my dear father bought me a STACK of about 40 cards that he bought from one of those coin operated crank machines, like the ones that sell gumballs or such. They were all in these cardboard sleeves and I thought they were so cool. I got a full Exodia even. However, I realized quickly that they were just stickers. I’m so glad my dad only got those from a crank machine and not from EBay.

The cards which have the most value for me are the first ones I got as a child from trading with friends or buying packs. Not comparable to when I pull an expensive card from a new set... Nice guide and clear explenation! I wanna add that in Europe cards are valued also in different gradings (MINT, NEAR MINT, EXCELLENT, GOOD, LIGHT PLAYED, PLAYED and POOR), so if you see Light Played, doesen't mean that the card is just one step down than the Near Mint. Is a card between the heavy played and the moderate played

When I was young, probably around 2002-2003 my father took me to NYC to go see Ground Zero. Afterwards, we stopped at a card shop and it was HUGE. So much merchandise and I ended up finding the Egyptian God cards and I freaked and my father purchased them. We would go back there every few months or so and I would buy so many cards. It wasn't for quite a few years that I noticed something was off with the majority of my 8000+ cards. They had this shiny foil that was removable, certain marks were there or weren't there, logos missing, washed out colors or bright foils, and even a weird watermarked removable foil. Every single card we bought at that store was fake. I still cherished them of course since they were from my father, but man I was disappointed. It still baffles me how that man was in business for so many years without someone calling him out.

When looking up cards on ebay it's easier to put in just the set code and whether it is 1st or unlimited. Then you can add the condition on at the end to filter further.

it's incredible how some misprints lower the value of the card while others raise it. I think misprints shouldn't affect the evaluation of a card's condition because they do not depend on how one keeps the cards. However psa and other companies don't agree my idea 😂
@juannavarro84974 жыл бұрын
Well for some collectors a misprint is welcome. I recently pulled a misprint Enlightement Paladin, the card itself is worth like 50 cents but because of that misprint the lowest is going for around $20 on Ebay. I mean...
@militarySorbet4 жыл бұрын
@@juannavarro8497 i'm ok with the fact that misprints increase the value of the card because it make the card "unique". I disagree with the fact that some misprints decrease the value even if some of them are more easy to find than other (like the off center). Again, i don't see any connection between card condition and misprint because these last one don't depent on how we preserve the cards.

More, the 1ed's have the gold seal of anubis, usually the fakes says 1ed and have a silver seal( Unlimited ones), and on the real cards, on the back, the letters "Yu-Gi-Oh" are more grey/silver, when usually the fakes are mosty gold/yellow.

If a card is from an old set (DM era being oldest, and older the better), is a holo, has 1st edition printed on it, and has no damage and good centering, grade it. Check under bright light to make sure there are no small dents or scratches. Yugioh has its own font so you have to look at a lot of cards and familiarize yourself to avoid getting scammed. It's easy to tell in person, but hard to online so be careful Just a heads up though, that PSA or BGS have quality control issues. Cards that should have been 8's can be 10's, and vice versa. I personally own a PSA 10 1st edition Dark Magician of Chaos with dents on the back and other 10s with damage. Do not trust the grade. They are not as professional as they say they are.

Can you talk about ultimate rares in a different video maybe, because it’s my favorite rarity and I came across the same issue with them namely when they are really flat. It’s like they lost almost all of their nice ultimate foiling and also the stamping and it makes the card less desirable. The cyber barrier dragon also looked like it and it gets like this when they are sitting in a large binder for a long time so the pressure flattens it. Hope you understand what I’m trying to tell and keep up the awesome content 😊👍🏼
