Today I incorporated your video into a chess lesson. It was a great success! My student won the Ruy Pawn Endgame (after two hickups) against the highest level of stockfish on lichess.

Thanks, this helped me a lot with the pawn game in the Exchange! Is One of my Fav Lines: i play the old Lasker line with 5.d4 but for the endgame nothing changes...as you said, Just follow the principles of Chess and you are in Cruise control

This was really cool. With Jobava London I get Caro exchange all the time via transposition where I always struggle as it is really difficult to attack. This solved a long lasting problem and will definely give this a go. Many many thanks!

How does this differ from the same (or very similar-looking) endgame in the Berlin? The black pawns are always said to be a lot stronger and a fortress in that opening.

The advamced e pawn usually makes it more difficult to create a passed pawn.

Thanks, will definetely try it, even with some additional bishops :) so it will look as if stockfish still have some winning chances to trick me in :)

Great video, you mention that the knight is strong in these positions. I would assume the bishop is stronger than the knight in these positions with pawns on both sides? But this seems incorrect. Could you elaborate on why the knight is stronger here

Generally with pawn on both wings, the bishop is better. Maybe I was a bit overzealous with my proclamation on this one....but still if white sets up the pawns in the "triangle" on a3-b2-c3 it is very difficult for black to bother these pawns if a white knight is on d2 and especially e3. From e3 especially it contains the Queenside and helps white advance on the kingside. Having said that, I think my statement was mostly based on feeling and I guess this is the best I can do to back that feeling up!

This explain a game I had in a couple years ago. in the "league" ovtb. He trade everything and after every move he vent up and take a coffie or look at the others game. He played super fast. I almost tricked him with stale mate. ( I lost)
