Best explanation of a chess opening and I have watched quite a lot! This video is underrated in terms of views. Thanks for this

Great to hear that you consider this video as one of the best that you watched so far. Do you play the Ruy Lopez regular and how did you find our channel?
@bukkysorinmade61794 жыл бұрын
Yes I play the Ruy Lopez regularly - I was just trying to improve my understanding of its theoretical positions; but it’s hard to get the theoretical opening positions against most players. I was just searching KZbin for narrative on the opening.

I’m sure there’s a lot of work put into this video. Cristal clear explanations, and really directed towards your audience, the average club players.

I've only watched 7 minutes so far and already I've learnt so much! Great video. Everything explained so simply and efficiently - beautiful. And I love Black's sudden queen and rook attack on White's kingside! Thank you. Subscribed.

At 8:36, could you take the pawn on g4 with the knight to prevent to draw and gain some material?
@No-cw1ps3 жыл бұрын
Nevermind i analysed it and knight to f6 from black is very bad for white

Time index 5:00 in discussing black protection of e5, why not bishop d6?
@rentfreeliving82384 жыл бұрын
Great Stuff, i like the deep analysis of each line, could you please cover the exchange variation without castling first, but instead play h3 first to prevent bishob b4 and then do the castling? this would be awesome.
@flinson34293 жыл бұрын
18:23 Sir instead of d4 why can't we sacrifice the knight N×e5, fxe5 ; Qh5+, g3 ; Qxe5+, and we can take the rook
@amadis88924 жыл бұрын
5:40 Can't the bishop go to h5 keeping the pressure on the knight? By the way I love your videos and you re doing a great work
@markwesley93464 жыл бұрын
I agree. The pin restricts white and by attacking the white bishop with the g and h pawns his king side is seriously weakened.
@Chessfactor4 жыл бұрын
Black can, but should be ready to sacrifice a pawn after g4 and Ne5. It’s an interesting line.
@guillaume63994 жыл бұрын
I just played against this but my oponent did resign quickly for no specific reason i heard it was bad for white to take the knight cause the dark square bishop is easy to shut down as you caqn put your pawns on light squares but im not sure its correct
@jackson324 жыл бұрын
In the Bg4 variation, there is a nasty line where black plays a quick g4. I lost to an IM like this, a master told me the main line, and it looked like to me the only way to avoid certain defeat, is to play Nd2 and then Nd4 threatening the e pawn, but then black doubles your f pawns again... I did not play this way and it looks like white loses almost by force in this line unless white plays nc4.

Thanks for your additional comments to the Exchange Variation!
@jackson324 жыл бұрын
In the Bg4 line, can't black play d3, Nd2, Re1, and then take the bishop knowing that the other N can defend the one on h2 from f1, while allowing the bishop to come out to e3?

Hi Andrey,i really liked your video.Thanks a lot.I just have a question, if this exchanged variation of ruy lopez is quite favorable for white,then why is it that this was not played at high level elite tournaments eversince? just wondering

Very good video. I am a very noob chess player (750+ rating). I am confused and don't know what to learn first. In chess.com, whatever moves I play, becomes an opening. So technically there is an infinite number of openings. And I am confused about which openings I should learn first. I hope your reply will help me and others very much.

Thanks for your comment. Basically a lot of chess beginners struggle with the same problem that you described. We have a website www.chessfactor.com, where we offer guided learning paths for different for different playing levels. So in your case you could start with the beginner path which is intended for players around your rating level. At your rating level you should first focus on other things than openings. Please have a look at our website and try it out. A lot of content is for free!
