I'm a little late to the party my RADTEL 890 arrives tomorrow I am really looking forward to it arriving I've not found any negative posts I certainly think it's a step up from the Quansheng UVK5(8)

The stock antenna is definitely questionable. Ive ever different antenna i have ive found the rx comes up a bit short when compared to my other radios. Specifically the uvk5 (8) and the air band reception is weak but sounds alot better than the k5 it just doesnt pick up alot. The squelch level seems to high. Love the dual display with channel name and frequency and it shows the pl tone on tx

This radio uses a standard K 2 pin cable which is the Baofeng cable! These can be had from about $6-15 online. Some need a driver for Windoz, and some don’t. You can also male your own, see MIKLOR site!

This is an extendable antenna with a BNC connection (so I have an adapter from female sma to BNC) I picked this one from Amazon, the brand is HYS. Works quite well and comes in with a VSWR of less than 1:2. The nice thing about it, is you can go from about 8” to 15” and better tune it to your needs!

​@@mrbubbles6961 Well, the FT-70D nor FT-4X aren't that old, yet these new Radtels beat them, not only for the USB charging which this guy didn't mention, but features unknown only a few months ago. Bluetooth for instance, available on a £58 radtel is available on an expensive £450 Yaesu FT-5D. The Japanese still haven't got one single radio with USBc charging yet! They could issue new batteries for current radios with a port for it though. The Japs should watch out!
