Compare how Empress Fuca fawns over the Emperor to how Ruyi treats him with respect, but as a husband is very telling. One has her henchmen around her and resorts to scheming and is always worried about what Ruyi is supposed to be doing. Empress would never understand Ruyi doesn't study her, versus Ruyi and all who surround her, just wish for peace and happiness. If the three of them would stop murdering people and try to live in harmony, they would have better lives. To see how easy and cheap they considered other lives, but when their children were in danger, it was the end of the world. Double standards much?
