I had the same thoughts too. But here's mine. If Jia didn't so blinded by her love to the Yu's Lord, she may still kill and scheming. But I think she won't be so blinded to have her child ascend the throne just to please her clan. Also, Jia doesn't seem interested to take the empress's seat so most likely she would ally herself with ruyi & hailan and the funny thing is she would also rival Hailan. Allied herself with Ruyi doesn't make her loyal to Ruyi but at least she has a very secure position. Jia don't care about the emperor's affection as well... she can put her son on the throne but maybe... just maybe she won't kill Ruyi's child.

The tragedy of Jin Yuyan is that there would be no way to be sure if she was of Yu clan or not. Ruyi couldn’t lie because the Yu prince actually wrote what he wrote. What Ruyi could have done was assure Jia that neither she nor the Emperor believed a word of it, but she couldn’t because the truth didn’t matter to the Emperor and because Ruyi couldn’t step outside of the Emperor’s stance, which was to keep quiet about it and hope that Jia would hang herself over the doubt. She confessed to throw Yu under the bus, as it were.
