Here is my tip... Learn to do your own RV maintenance and use a good car maintenance management program ( I use Automotive Wolf car care software ) to track and monitor it all. It also tracks all my parts, expenses and creates a detailed vehicle maintenance log. After RV'ing for over 10 years I've saved thousands by doing most of the maintenance myself and there is a lot of it on an RV! A small roof leak can cost you thousands in repairs so I check my roof at least twice a year. Keep on top of the maintenance and you'll save money and be RV'ing for years :)

Pool noodles! So many uses for these inexpensive items! On our 5th Wheel Reflection, I can't tell you how many times I've hit my head on the corner of our bedroom slide which is located right next to our pass-through storage area. I cut two small sections of a pool noodle and place them on the two bottom corners, securing them with clips normally used for securing picnic table covers. This hack has saved me numerous "headaches"...

If your Tongue jack is like mine, by removing the fuse you removed anyway for power to get to your tongue track. This also prevents theft of your camper. If you watch the videos on how people are stealing campers so quick, they are putting the tongue jack on top of the ball and just driving away. By removing the fuse, they can’t activate your tongue jack and it’s just another hurdle in their way.

I always carry 20 gallons in the fresh tank because I’m towing my own rest stop. Also, spare expanding shower curtain rods store easily under the bed. They rest really well on top of the midline trim of the shower and can be used to dry wet towels between showers (without that trim, you may need to tighten the rods to the shower walls).

Nice video... I hate hauling water, but if you have a breakdown on the road... nice to have. I suppose it depends upon the rig doing the hauling: small suv with an auto tranny or a 1 ton manual Cummins... If you are pulling with the right rig, it isn't the weight of the water that is killing you, it is wind resistance.

Rubber bands to keep cabinets closed. I use a anchor cleaves for the oh no break cabel. It's made of stainless steel and the nut is held in place with a hitch pin. that works too! Great idea! I use the bucket to carry firewood sometimes. I used to use wood blocks under my stabilizers but after not using the blocks to level anymore, i wanted to either get rid of the wood or the blocks. the blocks won, the wood was free. Thanks for commenting Daryl.

@@RVTIPSANDTRAVELS I use the leveling blocks flipped upside down under my stabilizers, but I also have a wood block under my tongue-jack, because my jack doesn't have a foot, and the wood block is easier to replace when the jack inevitably cuts through it.

Ha, my college roommate would do the radio trick to help him sleep because I snorred to loud. Before he learned that trick, he would throw pennies at me. @@RVTIPSANDTRAVELS another topic you might consider is related to keeping absorption fridges cool. I’ve started having some problems and I installed a 2x titan fan at the top of my fridge cavity to help pull hot air out and I have been testing it with results showing it’s worse with the fans going. I’m wondering if it’s actually pulling fresh air from the top more than it’s pulling from below. Seems crazy but I’m tempted to either add more fans to completely cover the top 6x20 vent exhaust opening but not sure. Anyway, it might be a good topic in the future for you. You could put a switched breaker on the tongue jack, and just flip the switch.

Thanks so much. My husband and I are looking at being first time RVer's. WEve been tent campers so all this is so helpful. I don't know if you have a video for tips for brand new RVers. Or going from tent to RV

Hi really like your video. I was wondering about the hooks you have on your sliding door to the bathroom are they just screwed in or did you have to use a anchor? Thanks
@RVTIPSANDTRAVELS2 жыл бұрын
My door is solid wood so no anchors needed. Here’s the hooks: amzn.to/3BZapUz

If you are watching this for the first time - yes, this is my 2nd post to this video but we just got back from our very first outing of 5 days and we used almost EVERY tool described in this video and it made our trip a howling success. I am a real person - not a bot and I literally ordered almost everything on the list and used it! (didn't have any emergencies - so we didn't need the emergency stuff! yay! But we have it!) Thank you so much for taking the time to share your knowledge and please know that there are those of us out here who are watching, listening and learning and are so appreciative of your time and commitment to helping our adventures more successful. I think that my favorite essential was the 90 degree angle hose bibs. OH my goodness. My husband had forgotten that I got them and the pressure on the value without them was visible - so thankful when we put them in and there was NO visible pressure on the value - we are believers! :) Thank you again! And I hope that I purchases provided you additional support as a thank you for your service.
