Great info and I wished that I had watched this when we were trying to figure out our electrical gremlin. Our 12V that runs our HVAC thermostat, lights, fridge controls, etc. stopped working. The master switch that is a momentary switch that trips a solenoid would not stay on (*click-*click, instead of *click*). We eventually traced it to a bad solenoid which we replaced and everything started working. It was very frustrating but thankfully we were able to figure it out. Thanks for the video!

Interesting...new to RVing and learning on the run. I am in a 1998 Coachman Catalina travel trailer and the tank gauges do not work. I can now assume the gauges are running on 12 volt, and since there is no battery on this baby the tank gauges will not work. The confusing part: There is only a breaker panel under the bed and no other panels I can find. I'll have to look into this more but THANKS for the explanation! I now have a path forward.

excellent video .05 pleasureway Lexor RD chevy 3500. No house power w/ generator onan2800,except house battery power stuff. I have shore power & house battery power. w/ generator on measured Voltage erroneous readings no 120VAC on breakers or 12VDC on fuses. shore power cords which I connected to coach 1st then to household Outlet. Result 124VAC on all breakers from neutral bus bar to breakers lugs & from negative green& bare wire bus bar to lugs, to each fuse 13.4VDC.also the GFI circuit in bathroom came on w/ test lamp. Additionally the air conditioner powered up so did microwave oven however no joy w/ Furnace still can’t hear blower or igniter.thremostate is getting 12VDC. house battery a deep cycle group 27 12.9VDC starts generator. Edit: when on shore power w/ AC on for about a minute I did hear the converters fan come on for maybe 2 minutes then off so I assume the convertors internal fuse is good? The generators Onan 2800 fuel filter is jammed up on the breaker due to a fuel line to short. I suspect w/ little vibration the generators breaker is turning off bc of fuel filter I think I’ve flipped it back up to on position & it’s turning itself off. I’d like to extend this fuel line & move it off the switch, anyone know the size of this fuel lines inside diameter? attached image of where I think the fuel filter should be located. Thanks for advice it is much appreciated.

Good morning and thanks for your great information. Yesterday we went up to my wife's brother's new home and he said I could plug into the side of his garage. He had his electrician install a 30 amp plug in. When I plugged my surge protector in then my power cord to the surge protector I went in to his circuit breaker panel and it was labeled RV on the breaker. I turned the breaker on and went back into the motorhome a few hours later and noticed my house batteries were not charging. I checked my surge protector and no lights on indicating power so I thought my surge protector was bad. I plugged my coach cord directly into the outlet and checked power inside my coach. I found a inverter breaker flipped off so I flipped it back on. It flipped off and I could smell it. Checking things out with my volt meter there was 220 volts to the plug in that I plugged into. The breaker was labeled RV and installed by his electrician. We came home last night as our batteries were running low. I'm about sick and I don't know what to do next. You're video gave me some inside knowledge. I just wonder what other damage was done besides burning out the inverter. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks Ken

Always plug surge protector in then turn on breaker and check for faults BEFORE plugging your RV in. Good surge protectors will have lights that tell you if it's wired correctly - which it sounds like the 30 amp outlet is not. As for what burned out - hard to tell, sorry
