Nice work Shot! My hitch and bumper need the same attention. Only difference will be that I'm using rust converter as an undercoat after descaling it.

DUDE!!!! 😂😂 How are ya doin?? This is looking so much better! Getting it torn down can almost get depressing. Then once the restore/rebuild gets really going it’s almost all feel good stuff! Even if a hole on the pan is slightly off, it’s a quick adjustment with a burr to just a slightly larger drill bit & a flat washer to cover it up. Paint over things one more time so the bolts don’t rust & you are done!! The most fortunate part is that everything was working prior to having to rebuild the mounts etc. That pan came out really nice and SOLID. It’s gonna out last the motorhome now! 😊

For the home gamer it is hard to beat Rustoleum as far as price/performance. For metal such as yours I would recommend highly the Rustoleum Rusty Metal Primer and then any top color coat you choose. I realize they make a paint and primer combination but performance wise in a previously rusty metal situation the Rusty Metal Primer is very hard to beat and fast drying. It is also forgiving in the prep area and easy to recoat if you get any rock dings etc. I have used it by itself where color was not an issue and it has stood up for years out of doors. The urethane coatings (bed liners etc.) can be very effective if the metal is sand blasted down thoroughly but they are expensive. I save them for wear areas like the bed of a pickup in most cases. Where money is no object then prepare the metal and do the whole frame as well as the interior floor area. I wish I could have the factory dip the chassis and cab in it while the metal is new. But in the real world that is beyond my budget at the prices they would charge. Professionally sprayed on it is very hard to beat with the proper prep. Auto parts store cans are not the same.

I’m thinking you need a good welder. You definitely have the dexterity to weld good. A stainless steel frame would look nice for your generator.

Yeah I just have a little Lincoln MIG, it’s great for small stuff… I just need more $$ 😂 thankful for what I do have though! Thanks!

Chief, another super Video on the Motor Home generator. I'm not judging, but have you thought of using a smaller drill bit as a pilot for the bigger bit? It would save the larger bit for you, just a suggestion.

If you don't want your metal to get rusty again, buy a spray can of Volvo boat outdrive primer and a can of silver spray of Volvo Penta paint. We used it for our boat outdrive and now we use it for anything that we don't want to get rusty, works great and last for ever. They're a little expensive but worth every penny.

Hey Chief. The new pan looks great. Its fits well too. A friend who is good sheet metal fabricator is his worth his weigh in steak. I am glad you were able to get the clutch assembly/pulleys/bearings and all disassembled. I'm curious to find out if the one belt that was loose is supposed to be lose or the previous owner just grabbed what he thought wood work and stuck it on there because it wouldn't fall off. Ahh, and we can't forget the coolant overflow tank held with a thin walled plastic pipe. Have you found many other strange DIY working on the coach repairs? Its looks to me like things are moving in the right direction. Look forward to the next video. Take care. I was wondering, could the dog be shaking because she's cold. My Sassy, she didn't like doggie clothes. Though she did like her "Thunder Coat" when it was storming outside. Take care bud. Alan from NC

I would like to suggest using the LineX material as it's extremely tough and durable to cover everything! It's all looking very nice, still allot of work ahead of you. Try not to work too hard!

how much water stands in the pan from rain, etc. you might think about a couple drain holes. The framers used to have a sealant paint that they used on rusted metal and it killed the rust and stopped it from coming back, of course I cant find it or remember the name. I think it was a rust red color

Yeah I thought about lifting it with washers to keep it from straight metal to metal…

On the cellphone, Don't register it with the cell company. Just use it as a camera. I use two Samsung cellphones as cameras to do my channel on KZbin.
