If you need to heat your living space, diesel, if you need to cool, induction. If you have plenty of power, induction, if you are low on power, diesel If you are in a hurry, induction, if you have time, diesel If you are slow cooking something for hours, diesel, if you want to quick boil something, induction. In reality, microwave.

If you have a heart pacemaker (like me for instance), please do check it’s compatible with an induction hob…many are not.

We have both of these on our boats and van so I think your review is spot on. We also have found your pan suggestions perfect with one exception. We found induction compatible diffusers allow one to use any pan on the induction stove since the diffuser transfers the heat to even a ceramic pot. You can find them on Amazon in various sizes for relatively little money.

Hey, nice video. Thanks for the additional info. Diesel is feeling good for our build, even more so now.

Thank you! Glad to hear this information was helpful for you. What type of build are you planning we are interested in the type of application you would be using it in.

@@rohdsteading5880 We are building a truck camper capable of hauling one adventure bike inside, and when needed, another off the rear bumper. With 1,000 lbs of bike on board (potentially) we are looking for every efficiency for light weight, and space saving, as possible. This duel purpose until allows me to get ride of propane cylinders (amazing) and further commit to the very tiny wood stove we are adding for super cold nights. Sending you appreciation!

How is it in warmer weather? Would it be a bad idea for the tropics? There will be times in northern latitudes, but I’ll mainly need for warm weather and I’m concerned the heat will be too much. Which do you find yourselves using more often? I’ve considered a side by side with induction, but now that’s a lot of space and extra costs. Thanks for your video!

In the fall, winter and spring we find ourselves using the diesel because the extra heat that is expelled during and after cooking will help with heating the cabin or taking the chill out if the air in the mornings. In the summer or when the temperature is above 80 degrees F we try to use the induction if possible (if we have enough power to support it) because of the heat created while cooking on the diesel as well as the heat that it retains after it has been shut down and is cooling down takes a while to dissipate, an hour plus sometimes. Having said all that, it is nice having both options and we have discussed possibly building an induction top into our next rig, side by side with the diesel. The other reason we will use the induction over the diesel is dependent on the wind direction. For example, just yesterday we used the induction because we had high winds blowing straight at the exhaust pipe. When this happens, the wind will go up the exhaust pipe and blow out the burner and/ or push the exhaust back into the cabin. Either one has it's limitations and it has been worth it to us to have both.

130 amps for the induction?
@rohdsteading5880
@rohdsteading5880 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, at max power off of our 12v battery bank we have seen the induction cooktop draw 130amps at 12 volts. So this is what is being drawn off of our batteries through the inverter.
