We had a few people ask us for a walkthrough of the interior of our RV. We have done so many modifications and restorations to this coach that we felt it prudent to show them off. We are proud of what we have accomplished. It is not for everyone. There will be haters that are not happy with the fact we painted the cabinets...etc.
That being said... We love it and have made it a point of pride to modify things that will suit our family of 5. This is a 1998 Foretravel U270 that is only 34 feet long. No Slides (bump outs). We chose Foretravel due to its outstanding build quality especially during the 90's and early 2000's models. Reliable engine 8.3 Cummins Diesel, larger wheels/ tires, Air Ride suspension, and steel frame build.
This thing is a tank.
It was dated and somewhat modified from its original when we bought it in early 2020. We have worked hard and hope you all enjoy what we have done. If you have questions please feel free to comment and we will try and get you an answer. Also... Please like and subscribe to the channel to see more great modifications underway!
rv life or rv living in something this size does require several rv mods or rv upgrades. We are not full time rv living people but do travel with kids. (RV with Kids) My brother has a travel trailer, and we felt it was easier with kids to go with a Class A. This is one of our rv tours. We hope it is helpful for beginners.

Nice job. What is the switch for when you first walk up the steps on the right side???

Good question. There is a silver switch that is a “salesman switch” just kills the 12 volt system so you can deactivate it when you leave for extended periods so you don’t kill the battery 🪫. We don’t use this or need it as our lithium system tops off the 12 volt system. The other 3 switches are for lights :-)

I seen you got rid of the propane gas and the tank what do you do about cooking in the RV I didn't see a stove nowhere

Good point! We use a plug in induction cook top that we store under the kitchen sink. It’s thin at only about 2-3 inches high. Oven is a ninja foodie that is stored under the refrigerator. We pull it out when we need it

With no propane, how do you heat water? On-demand (which boondocking seems to waste water heating up), or?
@TheHappyHootie
@TheHappyHootie 11 ай бұрын
By Heat water I assume you mean to take a shower . The water heater was both electric and propane. Without propane we flip the switch to turn on the electric heat prior to using. Then when done we flip the switch off to save electric. It’s not an on demand… just a standard rv water heater (perhaps 8-12 gallon) unsure of the size but large enough to take hot showers 🚿

Question for ya. I’m going to do cassette mini splits in my rv. What btu did you end up going with? I’m assuming the old units were 15k ceiling units. What btu mini splits did you switch to are they 12k and do they keep up or do they struggle like the old ceiling units ?
@TheHappyHootie
@TheHappyHootie Жыл бұрын
I would have to check. I had our hvac company size the unit to replace the heating capacity of the gas furnace… thus the large size of the mini split. The ac units are overpowered for what they are and you could hang meat in there if you wanted to. I do think the two heads were different btu ratings and we out the larger one in the front and smaller in the bedroom. (Same size head unit just one was a lesser btu rating. I will see if I can find out

Great video on all your great mods. Question my wife brought up (she loves to cook) : where do you cook as we could find a typical 2 or 3 burner stove in your video?

Oh, OK, I am reading your comments on the induction cook top.

Correct. And we found it to be great… we have used it inside without issue… but it is so portable that when we want to cook smelly foods (onions, garlic, fish… etc) we can plug it in outside .

@@TheHappyHootie So, I saw the sales posting. Are still trying to sell your beautiful motorhome after you've put in all this work and know what you have?
@TheHappyHootie
@TheHappyHootie 11 ай бұрын
@@martyh4777 unfortunately yes. We were never full timers… younger kids liked the longer trips (1-2 weeks) older child hated it. Wife said with kids in school , sports etc… we are. It utilizing it enough to warrant keeping it in the storage shed on property. If you know someone interested in a well kept and documented coach… pass us along!

@@TheHappyHootie Not sure if you saw my response through RVTrader. My wife and I are interested and we are currently RVing (older Class A gas) & staying in the eastern part of WY. Where is your coach available for viewing?
