RV Remodeling Ideas - Motorhome Cabinet Renovation For Flat Screen

We remodel a late 90s RV motorhome and retrofit it with a new larger widescreen smart tv. We try to reuse as much of the existing oak wood cabinets and stain it to match the rest of the motorhome interior. This rv renovation will do for now until someday when we can remodel and update the whole inside to a newer look. Thanks for joining us.

Chris, you're a real craftsman, that's way beyond my woodworking skills. You're also a good son, which will help you be a good daddy! When I was younger I'd have thought an RV with Eddie painted on it was really cool and tried to get the spot right next to it at the campground, but now I'm old and if I saw that I'd want to camp as far from it as possible, because I'd expect them to be cranking Powerslave at 2 O'clock in the morning while I'm trying to fall asleep. 😄

Hahaha so very true, hey maybe that's why mom likes it on there cause everyone gives her lots space. Then the others far off in the campground feel cheated when all they hear is John Denver at a reasonable volume level coming from the RV

Nice! But why keep the space for the "rats nest"?

The closer you move forward the more it curves down from the top because of the nose cone design in front. The TV we used had to go in that spot unless I cut into the headliner so it could hang down lower in front of the windshield. I could have installed a small 30" which could have moved in a little more but the two cabinets on each side may have blocked the sight lines a bit so I don't know if that would have looked nice or not. I tried to figure it out but it's hard when you're dealing with a weird shaped fiberglass object to build against.

Now I understand, there are only so much tilt you can give the monitor and with the curved shape you need a certain distance from the apex. Well, you could give the space of "rats nest" to, and access via, the cabinets... Then you'd utilize the space a bit more for storage instead, but maybe that's not needed anyway and would have been a bit overkill for a quick project... I really liked the finish, it looked great! Good job!
