RV Renovation Halted by Ice Storm! ❄️😭 + Preparing Our Cedar Ceiling Planks!

We had BIG rv renovation plans this week, but sadly a crazy ice storm followed by a crazy snow storm has really put a damper on our plans. 🌨😭 Luckily we have plenty of paint and stain projects we’ve been putting off, so we we're still getting stuff done... from the warmth of our heated garage 👨‍🎨👩‍🎨

As someone who works with a respiratory physician I am pleased to note that Eric and Allison always wear masks and make the occasional comment about it without being preachy. They are so right though as the damage to lungs can emerge many years later. Young people especially think they do not need masks, but late onset respiratory diseases are no joke.

Nice to have something to watch while we have no power or water in Texas during this winter storm. This is when I wish most homes here weren’t electrical only. Be nice to have a wood burning stove or something. Bundled up with candles making the most of a unique situation that I have never experienced. Stay safe stay warm too all especially if you are without power or other life services.

Great video. One tip for your finish or paint can. Use a nail to punch 4 holes around the rim of the can. The excess finish or paint will drip back down into the can and not build up in the rim channel. Cheers

Yep! We have the same snow storm here today in Nashville, TN! I live in Mt Juliet and it was pretty insane! Lots of ice and then the snow came heavier when it got dark! I am definitely not bitter about it lol as I LOVE the snow! So glad to see Eric didn't break his neck! It is extremely icy here as well and weather channel is saying constantly to stay home and be safe even outside your own front door at home!

I'm originally from Indiana (Evansville) but now live in North Florida. Sometimes I miss the snow, but after watching this video, no thanks. It's coldish where I live, about 48-degrees Fahrenheit going up to a high of 58 degrees today, but no snow, no ice. I've enjoyed watching you guys play in the snow but wouldn't trade places with you for anything.

Wow that really is like snow cone ice! Luckily we got nice fluffy stuff good for making snow forts and having a snowball fight! I love how the stain on the ceiling panels turned out. Beautiful!

I like the stain color you chose! In Cincinnati we were supposed to get 12-18in. We ended up getting alot of ice and it just now finally started to pour snow. I love the snow! It'd be great to see you guys sled and build a snowman. People have been getting creative in my city building some beautiful things with the snow 💜

Wow! You kids should come back down to North Texas/DFW and help us shovel snow! We expect 2 - 4" of snow on Wednesday. The temperature as I type is 8 degrees F. (-1 wind chill). You got exactly what we got over here in the Netherlands. We had 10 days of full on winter, with lots of snow and ice and freezing temperatures. Coming weekend we are getting 20 celcius, the total opposite of what we had. Chamces are we will get another winterspell after that. I don't mind I LOVE SNOW

make a few flipfops from a plank of wood and some old belts that you can fit over/under youre normal shoes and put a bunch of screws through the plank , that should give you a little more traction ..... dont forget to take them of before going intoo the house though

I might have been taught wrong but you don't actually sand a coat of varnish you "key" it. Which means you give it a quick scour (with fine wire wool) then brush the dust off giving the next coat a surface to grip to. That is much more effective and quicker than sanding it smooth. But it maybe lost in translation between US and UK terms. Great vlog. Loving the series.

Need to get a Salamander Heater to warm up the big workshop enough to work in! Even if the one you get isn't enough for the entire shop you can just aim it at the area you're working in and the door of the RV and keep those spots warm! They can heat a huge area with force blown heat like a Jet engine!

1 degree this morning in Dallas, TX and many without power for 24 hours and counting. Our cold water pipe froze in the kitchen. Our houses aren't built for cold. They are built for hot summers with the vents in the ceiling. I enjoyed this video. I like your renovation videos.

-10C Cold? World is a large place - here in Finland -10C is perfect for winter sports and not really any kind of problems. When we go bellow -20C it starts to bit limit what you want to do outside but cars, buildings etc. stay warm.

However, Finland is at a much higher latitude than Missouri. Helsinki is at 60° North while they are closer to 37° North. At Helsinki's Longitude of 24°56′15″East , 37°North is somewhere in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Greece.

For future sanding, you know you can wrap a piece of sandpaper over a block of wood (2 x 4) and use for hand sanding. Just say'n.

You should look into Leggari Products for your countertops in the kitchen and bathroom countertops. It's all DIY friendly and I think you two would be great at it. A lot of colors and combinations. They have a KZbin channel with demonstrations and DIY tutorials pluse they send you video instructions when you order.

You might want to varnish the back side of those ceiling boards to seal the wood in case you have a roof leak it won’t ruin the ceiling.
