We are full-time RVers since 2021. We bought a 2005 Monaco Knight motorhome (Monaco no longer exists) and the quality difference from our coach compared to the newer ones is considerable. We looked at a new FR3 by Forest River and a new ACE by Thor, that were in the same price range as the Monaco, before deciding on an older, better built RV, which is the one we are in. This will be our only RV, as we do not have endless funds to purchase multiple RVs. We are so glad we resisted the urge to buy new, and went with a tried and true RV. Manufacturers need to build quality rigs again, and stand behind your product!

My opinion is that “HB media” is affiliated with “HB Capital “. The capital side shorts stocks and then the media side releases a scathing news report that drives the stock price down. They buy the shares at a lower price to pay back their borrowed (shorted) shares. I don’t believe that HB really wants to improve the company as they could drive the price higher, causing HB to pay higher price to buy the stocks they’re short. If you’re investing, you could see money, but if the stock price crashes, you could see bankruptcy. Bankrupt is the best return for short sellers. They keep it all.

My Montana had frame flex. However, I think the difference is Keystone worked with me to resolve the issue, whereas some other brands are in complete denial mode and leave customers to deal with it. My sense is all most all 5th wheel manufactures have some level of frame flex given almost frames are made by the same manufacturer. Sadly, the whole RV industry is being negatively affected by very poor frame and superstructure quality and horrific customer service by a few.

I feel for you guys, I sure did not think I would be advocating for a recall on Grand Designs frames after buying ours new in 2022. Our frame failed after 9 months of light use from being new. Our dream has been destroyed!!. That article is only the beginning of exposing the truth. "Focus on Fun" more key words. @briankiefer8563 ай бұрын
The only way for consumers to fix this problem, that is being produced in Indiana, is to stop buying their junk. If you try to engage in legal recourse, a class action claim, filed in federal court, or from another state, the class action will be transferred to state court in Indiana, in where your damages will be eliminated, and remedy favorable to the company. That’s exactly why they’re in Indiana. You the consumer, has the power to effect change, and that’s to stop buying their defective products. All of these companies in discussion, have in fine print, identifying arbitration and severability clauses, in the post inspection at delivery, in which explicitly identifies their duty of care owed to you, in the event the consumer seeks legal recourse. Basically, if you sign, then you forfeit your right to pursue damages against them. What’s that mean? You’re back to square one. The defective issue is still there. And the company is laughing in your face, as they know they’re not legally obligated to do anything. I’ll give you an example: vaccines that are now being discovered to be harmful. Most of these drug makers are headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana. The patient’s are finding that they are unable to seek legal recourse. A. The FDA refuses to provide studies, indemnifies, and holds harmless the drug maker. B. Indiana provides cover for civil actions against the companies. And Indiana provides cover for tort claims against public/government entities. This process will continue until the U.S. Supreme Court upends the statutory scheme as unconstitutional.

What vaccines have been proven harmful? And what was the harm?? Who wrote the dats/information/study?? Would love to see your response.

@@denisephillips9269 So, a research check has matched your name to an attorney profile. Of course, I know there are many people with the same name. But, I will not release names in medical case studies as this violates the Privacy Act and HIPAA. You can go to the US Courts, known as PACER, and make a request for production. PACER does charge document fees. If you’re not the attorney matching your name, then you may hire an attorney that specializes in Consumer Product Safety Cases, and they can assist you in retrieving the information, for which you request. Expect to pay at a minimum ten thousand dollars in retainer, and about three hundred dollars an hour for consultation. Due to the voluminous amount of data available, plan on a forty hour consultation at the hourly rate. These fees do not include expenses, that means paper, phone calls, emails, and etcetera. These expenses can be salty. Also, the State of Kansas, Attorney General, has brought a cause of action against a drug maker, for misleading and concealing the risks of its vaccines. Also, under FOIA, the FDA mandated drug makers to attach to vaccines the risks that may cause, in utilizing drugs for conditions as thereby stated. In conclusion, I’m not posting information in which is protected by privacy, or in violation of State and Federal laws. If you’re that attorney as indicated above, nice try.

You should know that the privacy act and health insurance portability and accountability act preempts your very request in a public forum. Federal and State laws also bar information to be published on this forum, in reference to your request. Under the freedom of information act, the food and drug administration has directed the drug makers to publish adverse effects that can be experienced with its drugs. The State of Kansas, Attorney General, has brought a lawsuit against a drug maker, for concealing, misleading, and withholding, the effects of its drug in relation to a known epidemic. If you need assistance, then you may hire an attorney that specializes in consumer product safety. The appropriate fees, such as retainer, consultation, and expenses apply. You may also visit pacer, pro se, via the United States courts to ascertain records per your query. If you’re the attorney described above matching your name, nice try.

Ok, I heard from a number of you regarding the previous post. Indiana Law on warranty claims has not changed. How many defective frames were produced per the Hunterbrook report? Unknown. Currently, there are only one hundred and twenty five complaints filed with National Highway Transportation Safety Administration. Of those complaints, only ninety one mention “frames.” This isn’t a moving number for the federal agency to issue a recall campaign. Yes, I agree the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act trumps Indiana Law. However, this process requires a long history; photographs, logged communication, defective repairs, refusal of repairs, certified letters, and the list goes on, to pursue a successful complaint. Out of all these complaints with issues only twenty two were filed under Magnuson. And we don’t know who prevailed, or the disposition of the adjudication per the settled cases. The settled cases don’t identify a pretrial agreement either. This is where both parties settle by mediation before trial. I agree there’s something rotten in the manufacturing process. But, the Hunterbrook report does not conclusively identify a mitigating factor of a causation. Also, there’s a lot of gaslighting with the old he said she said conversations. Overall, there’s still no smoking gun. The who’s at fault scenario. I don’t see anywhere in all of these conversations where third party expert engineers were at the frame manufacturer to conduct stress tests, or the expert engineers were at the rv manufacturer to evaluate the set on frame process, building the coach. In conclusion, it’s great the conversation has begun. But, at this point , it’s more or less finger pointing. Again, no smoking gun has surfaced to nail down responsibility. And Indiana Law on product liability still stands.

Your discussion today and what I have learned about the rv industry is leading me away from the rv lifestyle. I just don’t need the problems, stress, and expense at my age (69). My analysis of the rv industry is that it is the wild Wild West with little codes, quality, inspection, standards, etc. I bought a used Class B and realized the rv dealer cares nothing about the van and the van manufacturer cares nothing about the rv and they just point their fingers at each other. I was so frustrated with this attitude that I sold it much sooner than planned at a loss due to the stress it put us under. It's not just a Grand Design problem. It's the lack of quality coming from Lippert who is building a majority of the frames. I've looked over bare frames before anything is mounted on them. The welds are incomplete, have holes in them, and look so sloppy that I don't know how the frames made it off the assembly line. To make matters worse, once the RV's are built, you cannot inspect any of these welds unless you deconstruct the rig. I hate government regulation, but the RV industry needs major oversight.

It has standard features that are upgrades on most other units. If you are looking for a solid unit, look into a Montana or Montana High Country.

So did all of this start after Winnebago bought Grand Design? I have a 2018 Reflection, should I be concerned?
@blacksmithnc3 ай бұрын
I have a 2016 Reflection 303 and have no problems with it. My fifth wheel was made before Winnebago bought Grand design out. It is not a huge toy hauler which people tend to overload and complain they are having frame issues. These videos complaining about a certain brand of rv are misleading because many brands of rv's use the same Lippert frames. When Grand Design first started making rv's they were one of the best made rv's on the market but when Winnebago bought them out they went downhill.

I just love you guys and appreciate your honesty SO MUCH!❤ We also have decided to not align ourselves with any brand (even though we LOVE our rig and have not had any issues) because of all of this craziness. I personally lost 20k on a travel trailer by crossroads and it had major water damage because the window was not sealed at the factory and I didn't find out until I gave it away and the guy who took it for free fixed it!. It was at the dealer multiple times for repair an they knew it and never fixed it. As for flex, I used to find my back bathroom door pop open while going down 95 south to florida. So many time I had to pull over to close it. the door was double locked!!!!

It’s so sad that a company can get away producing products of inferior quality. While we aren’t a grand design owner (we have a class a) I have talked several people out of buying a 5th wheel and specifically Grand Design. My heart goes out to you and the folks that have purchased this brand. It’s also concerning in terms of safety with these rigs going down the road.

Needless to say the RV was filled with mold and my sister just called it a day and so it to a person that was going to fix it himself .

This issue fires me up. I’ve been told from day 1 …. “Oh that’s just part of it” … um no it shouldn’t be. I own a Grand Design product and I’ll never buy another one. I know the exact Facebook group that only sees rainbows and unicorns and worship the ground Don Clark walks on . I’ve made the comment about it being very cult like…. Never say anything negative about GD or get attacked. It’s sad to see other KZbin channels blindly push GD products . But I guess that keeps them on the road and they get to try new RV’s. Go to Canada or Europe, and you will see the difference in quality. You are both so right. We have seen youtubers like downsizing makes sense, my bucketlist, Liz Amazing, etc. We have been very lucky we bought a 2019 toy hauler travel trailer with no slides in 2018, and yes, we took out the dinette and put a combo washer dryer in. We have added Henry's tropi-cool on the roof, have solar panels we use at our property for boondocking. We only detected a vent that was never connected under our sink, but luckily that has been it. Regular maintenance of tires and we think it may be because it is a toy hauler it was built a bit sturdier. We are really on the fence about switching to a class C, because as we age it is getting tiresome to hitch and dehitch, but we see what is going on with RV makers' lack of accountability, and we really hesitate to switch. Glad you are blowing the whistle. I have to wonder which government agency regulates these RV builders, DOT, or do you have to lawyer up with a consumer rights attorney? Would be great to see some sort of vigilance that would score the quality and safety of RVs like they do cars. We enjoy your videos, and have noticed many RV youtubers facing issues, getting inspectors' certificates, and having to take a break from the road due to the stress of poor quality RVs.

We are an older couple and when we first started the RV camping life, I remember the manufacturers stating that if most RVs are used as full time rigs the warranty was void. There were specific rigs that were built stronger that were called "Park Models" that did not get their warranty voided if used full time. I am not sure when that stipulation changed in the industry. I also have seen rigs grow in size and complexity. We currently have a Carriage Cameo LXI and although they are out of business (2010) they made most of their components in the rigs in house including their frames, cabinets, upholstery, etc which I think is better to prevent the blame game who is responsible.

Pitiful. The industry has gone down the toilet. The prices have doubled and the quality is non existent. I'm a former Carriage owner. Carriage had a long history of quality. They could no longer compete due to changing trends AND an experienced, seasoned work force. So what happened.....they were shut down and the company was basically rebranded as Lifestyle LRV. Many of the same employees for less pay. They built the same RV as a Carriage but with a few improvements. I had a 2014 LS36fw. I wonderful RV and an incredible frame. People weren't will to pay the price for their quality so they went belly up. If you find a used one that has been maintained, grab it. Excellent rigs with no crappy slide out mechanisms, etc.

A one year warranty with many different manufacturers is a disaster. They know they can toss blame around until the warranty expires. Since an owner ends up repairing a brand new RV themselves, they might as well just buy a used one. A used one may have already had some repairs done. While traveling in Mexico, get all the repairs done there at a fraction of the cost. They actually know how to weld there.

One question: RV stands for Recreational Vehicle. I have always been under the impression an RV was not meant as a permanent home/structure. Does the continued use and hauling result in some of the problems encountered? Thanks for any information you can give. I am not discounting problems experienced. I agree too many manufacturers produce poor quality merchandise.

Tom...how much of this is on Lippert for the frames versus what the OEMs are adding to those frames? I like the Grand Design as far as their layouts, storage, and organization, but right off the bat even their empty weight was of concern. A few years later, I'm glad I never went with them. I agree... this is nothing but gaslighting from the CEO.

They make the majority of RV’s in northern Indiana because, the majority of RV parts suppliers and railroad lines are there. That is good for the manufacturers. The problem is that they are using the same flawed products and manufacturing processes and looking out for their bottom line. Without regulations to protect consumers and major consequences, they will continue this practice. As a resident of Indiana, I am frustrated and embarrassed that our state hasn’t done more about this problem. It affects the lives and livelihoods of thousands of people. I don’t want to see that taken away. I pray that they would be instrumental in protecting us and their families in a way that is good for everyone. We all enjoy camping and they need to make RV’s great again.
@GrumpyTV123 ай бұрын
Sorry but I believe the RV manufacturers have their plants in Indiana because of the State and the protection this State affords the manufacturer. The parts suppliers will move to where ever the manufacturer is (I live in a city that manufacturers automobiles, parts suppliers come and go as needed). I have heard a lawyer say (does lemon law) that they use Indiana as a base because the courts favor them there more then other States would during "warranty " discrepancies. In fact, if I remember correctly if you bring a lawsuit against them it is required to be filed in Indiana, even if you lived in another State, purchased in another State and had never even stepped in the State of Indiana.

These things cost WAY too much to be created as basically junk. We're on our 3rd RV and I'm surprised that we haven't had some of these issues. We discovered MANY shortfalls in the Forest River travel trailer we got. Thankfully, my husband was able to correct them. Since then, Forest River has been on my DO NOT BUY list. We now have a 2009 Monaco Cayman that we absolutely love. In a couple of years, we wanted to get something else, but I'm afraid to do that. Someone needs to do something to make these manufacturers accountable. This is unacceptable!!! Someone mentioned that you might want to connect with Liz Amazing. She really has helped many people and she has posted lots of videos to shed light on the garbage that is being produced. One of the manufacturers actually sent her a Cease and Desist letter. She has become SO concerned for her safety that she had to get out of her motorhome and go into hiding in order to continue producing these videos. It is horrible that these manufacturers would actually prefer to take dark measures to cover up their garbage, rather than do the right thing. It is a SAD world that we live in. 😢
