Did my roof in 2015. It’s on the pacific coast in the desert 100 yards from the beach. Still working great! Worth every penny!

Why haven't you used the Eternibond Tape Sealant first around the edges before putting the silicone coating?

I have a rubber roof on my camper. Its a 2019 and there are several bubbles. So far no leaks. Can I seal over these or do I slice them, then re-glue and seal the roof ?

So why not do Henry pro grade? Is it the same thing? Thicker?

Around the fixtures aren’t you supposed to strip the old stuff off and then apply a fresh seal? I’m a little confused
@IWillSmurfYou2 ай бұрын
Yes!! Very unprofessional and ignorant
@byronewhite2 ай бұрын
Not if the present seal is healthy. Stripping the old seal can lead to rubber/tpo roof damage. Just spread the coating on heavy on these spots. This is a nice basic repair that will extend the life of the roof for 10, maybe 20 years. Doing my rig right now. 🤠

I've seen silicon and acrylic rv roof sealers. I'm debating between Henry and STA-COOL silicon or the Dicor acrylic. What are your thoughts between silicon and acrylic? Thanks
@challenger07151 Жыл бұрын
I like the silicone better because it doesn't absorb water, mind you that only is an issue if you have any spots where water can sit or pond. Acrylic is still a good option but will require reapplication sooner as well.

I have used this as well and have a slit on the edge normally would use repair tape but cant seem to find it for silicone. Do you have a product i should look into to ise?
@jonpurvis4870Ай бұрын
they make a seam seal with fibers in it. But you can use silicone with some polyester fabric or fiberglass like I did around the skylight, and you should be fine.

Well part of your gutter is missing. That’s why I drains down the side.
@jonpurvis4870Ай бұрын
you're correct the gutter Kick out was broken. I did eventually replace them, but in the wind the rain still runs down the outside wall. But my latch has definitely been better since just the silicone coating.

I have a fiberglass top, I'm pretty sure on my van high top roof on my conversion van. Does anyone know of anything that works on that?
@jonpurvis48703 ай бұрын
Silicone should be fine on that. However, you could call the number on the bucket and double check. Just make sure you prep it well.

Your a roofer and you don't even know what membrane you are looking at. That is EPDM and silicone doesn't stick to EPDM. I'm not a roofer and I know that
@JesseVAyers Жыл бұрын
If your EPDM roof is in decent condition, you CAN renew it by installing a silicone roof coating system cover over the existing membrane.

You absolutely can apply Henrys tropi cool to all rubber roofing materials. I've watched 30 plus ytube videos watching people do it including expert RV inspectors. They all love this product and say it is the best roof sealant on the market as long as it is properly applied to a clean leak free roof. All seams must be watertight and the sealant in good pliable condition or should use Eterna bond tape before the Henrys. Once the Henrys has been applied, all future repairs if needed have to be silicone based.
@iair-conditiontheoutsideai30769 ай бұрын
@@randallzook5570 you can do a lot of things doesn't mean it's going to bond to the membrane. I could smear applesauce on the roof and it would work better
@r.k.86711 ай бұрын
People do not use Henry TropiCool for your Camper Roofs. Once coated this stuff is a dirt magnet and your roof will look like crap all the time. Also you will not be able to use any type of sealants over it to seal around your vents, etc that require yearly sealing. Your roof will look good and brand new for a week or two right after sealing, after that you are in for a headache. Don't ruin your camper roofs with this crap there are acrylic based alternatives out there that are way better than this stuff.
@iair-conditiontheoutsideai30769 ай бұрын
Couldn't have said it better you know what your doing. Just dicor around seams. Painting the whole membrane does nothing because it only leaks at the seams. But he's a roofer 🤣🤣
@user-ei1po7ml2g4 ай бұрын
They make a caulking for it. Home Depot sells it. We have had this on our rv for five years. Not one problem.

@@iair-conditiontheoutsideai3076 Actually over time the pvc roof gets brittle and surface cracks/splits. we've Been applying silicone on 18yr old dura last roofs that leak in the field. The silicone has been working well to seal and rejuvenate the existing roof. Rv didn't have any leaks roof was just degrading so the silicone was mainly preventative maint. still holding up well.
@Ch0p-6911 күн бұрын
@iair-conditiontheoutsideai3076 I'm a RV technician and I replace roof membranes all the time. coating the whole membrane makes it much more resilient to damage and small tears. It's good preventative maintenance and a way to avoid having to replace the entire membrane. If I owned a RV, I would absolutely coat the roof. These rubber membranes are garbage and expensive.
