As a former tow truck driver (rollback) I can say that I personally like to strap all 4 wheels but it is okay to only do two wheels if you are not going very far. I stopped using the J hooks on the frame in favor for the tire straps because it is safer in my mind and does not damage the vehicle like the J hooks can. But I have seen a rollback turned over with an SUV strapped to it with only two wheel straps on it. The vehicle stayed in place and only shifted a little bit, but was over all completely on the bed of the truck.

At 6:14 when you see the burst of flames from the bottom and the strange noise, that's the propane tank venting itself. The tank is getting hot so the propane is expanding, so for the tank to protect itself, it's venting propane. Eventually, if the fire continues unabated, you will see venting non stop. And again if the fire continues and there is still propane in the cylinder it will eventually reach too high of a pressure and fail resulting in an explosion.

Altitude sickness is indeed a real thing and folks should take seriously. The visitor center at the top of Pikes Peak by Colorado Springs sells oxygen canisters that are quite popular for those visiting from lower elevations. You’ll see quite a few people sucking on them on the way down while riding the cog rail. If possible definitely take a few days to acclimate to and enjoy our “Mile High City” and above if visiting Colorado!

Hey Joe, that secondary fire in the motor home sounds to me like the over pressure popoff valve releasing excess pressure (Many times that valve will make a sound similar to that on the small tanks) to avoid what is known in the fire service as a BLEVE (pronounced "blĕ-vee"). That is the acronym for "Boiling Liquid, Expanding Vapor Explosion. It's far better that a short spurt of LP is burnt off as seen here than for the entire tank to vent suddenly when the pressure gets so high that the tank wall falls! Nobody wants to see that! When I joined the fire service in the mid-80s, I went through LP training, and the instructor showed us a film named BLEVE. If you can find it, that movie will make you consider never messing with that gas again! Please keep up the awesome work!!!!!

Being near two national parks, we see a lot of RV traffic passing thru our area, and a few wrecks I've seen make that Ember's condition very impressive, as to it's structural integrity! One 5 th. wheel trailer wreck I passed by once looked like it had been put thru a blender, it was in so many little pieces, 5 gallon buckets were used for most of the cleanup (I know the wrecker crew.)

It’s the lack of oxygen that makes you tired altitude sicknesses he reaction to that lack of oxygen.., migraines, dry mouth, those sorts of things. But no matter when you come from a lower elevation the lack of oxygen definitely will make you tired the next day. Here’s your little Colorado fun fact. After moving from approximate sea level to 567 and above thousand feet within approximately a year, your lung capacity will increase by almost 25%. But what does that mean? Well an example is when you go back down to sea level and your lung capacity is 25% larger you are intake more oxygen and oxygen is what you need to process alcohol so you have so much oxygen running through your system. It’s really hard to get drunk at sea level.😂 But that’s also one of the reasons why the Olympic development camp is in Colorado Springs and a lot of long distance Olympic runners run in Colorado. Because your lung capacity grows. Hope you had fun while you were here!

The Rv Fire is Not Lithium Batteries, it's the Propane tank exhausting as it heats up. They're designed NOT to EXPLODE - as the fire heats up the tank, pressure builds up in the tank and the safety valve blows off the excess propane. it will continue to do this until the tank has been cooled off. Propane tanks rarely (if ever) explode without an outside explosive force to set it off. Fire will not make a propane tank explode. They are VERY SAFE.

Trailer sway is caused by the off balance of the Rv trailer Axils position, and the increase of air pressure and vacuum effects when passing and being passed by big trucks, and cross winds, the faster you go the more air pressure is on the trailer with air trying to lift it off the ground from the front, and increase of air pressure on the back of the trailer at speeds above 60 mph, with the way air pressure can switch to equal on both sides, to one side having a suction effect, can and does cause loss of control, air stream, trailers will better maintain equal air pressure at hwy speeds but the axils are still in the wrong place, they need to be closer to the rear, of the trailers you don't see semi's wrecking because of trailer sway, pay attention,
@Lfs18916 ай бұрын
Axles further back causes more pin weight. If u have the sway bars proper. And trailer tire pressure right they don't sway. Upgrade trailer tires to a 10 ply not 6 will also help. And get shocks added to ur trailer axles.
@michaelguerin46186 ай бұрын
@Lfs1891 they will keep crashing because of the wind and suction effects if the axils are not moved back, even if you need to use more truck to get it done then that's what will have to be done, weight distribution hitches are not the solution but the truck that is rated to do the job, short beds and none flat beds should not be used for towing 5th wheel trailers but people do it anyway, but when the ground they are on gets uneven enough they will find out,
@michaelguerin46185 ай бұрын
@Lfs1891 back in the 70s and 80s we did that with the bumper 3 inches off the ground, but we had no trailer sway issues Even with an f 150 with a pallet of tile taller than the cab and a pallet of concrete near as high, with a 16 foot trailer with scaffolding and 2x12 stacked 12 feet high That was heavier than a tractor on the trailer, or hauling hay the same way same truck, and the job sites were all over an hour away up to 3 -1/2 hours away,
