Another tip for sexy caulk lines... push the caulk tube away from you instead of pulling it toward you. When you apply trigger pressure it won't create a hump on your line of silicone. Cheers!

Always enjoy your video’s especially when Angela gets in and not afraid to help out. One thing you missed on doing your bearing is do the bearing preload. The castle nuts get torqued down to 21ft lbs while rotating the drum. Undo the nut but don’t rotate drum then just snug up nut to get the cotter pin through the hole. Always use a new cotter pin, they are cheap.

I didn’t know it had a name. Ha! Yes, we did this and may have failed to show it. I wanted to be careful about showing torque specs, since they can vary. Good information!

The proper way to put this back together is snug it up as tight as you can and loosen up the not have a turn and you’ll be good to fly and the extra grease. You’re putting back on the axle. You’re wasting your time. Just grease the bearings and cup and you’ll be good to go.

In most cases less caulk is better. Another way to smooth caulk is have a damp cloth and wet your finger prior to smoothing caulk. Very helpful with the roof maintenance, getting ready to uncover the camper. Just finished rest of video and the bearing greasing was very helpful as well, just ordered materials from Amazon! Definitely! That’s a good point about the water on the finger. It wasn’t until after the soap water trick, that we would wet our finger with it and it clicked! Duh. We learn slow! Ha!

*** Cody add checking your electric motor head bolts (2ea.) to your maintenance checks! Our bolts fell out of the D/S rear allowing the jack motorhead to raise up and out of the ram. As it did the motor rotated ripping out the electrical wires! After I reinstalled/torqued new bolts I torque striped them with nail polish, fixed the wires, ops checked good!*** I hope this made sense, keep up the great videos, and thank you!

Great job Cody. I had my dealer do the first wheel bearing this year because incase something was wrong it was covered, but now I’m on my own. Great doing things yourself. The satisfaction is rewarding

I have 800 amp hours of lithium batteries that do not have low temperature protection from charging. But my solar controllers can be set up to not charge them if they’re too cold. A lot of people don’t realize is when you have a load on a battery it is creating heat, so unless you’re in the 20s for temperature I wouldn’t be concerned with your battery especially since mine are in an outside battery compartment on my motorhome and I’ve never had them get below 45. As I said if you’re in that cold, your heater is running and in my case an electric blanket for my bed.

I rolled FlexSeal in our 2016 roof last year. 12 months in and it’s stained from tree sap but looks great. The soapy water trick is also used when caulking the shower tile.

Low temp protection is for charging only, not discharge. Although not ideal, your battery is good for people who don't camp in cold weather.

Good job. On my Jayco Eagle, I ran Eternabond around the entire perimeter of the roof. You mentioned Eternabond on the slide roof. On mine, it looks like Eternabond, but it definitely isn't. It's much thinner. Screw heads had actually cut through it. I ran a piece of 4" Eternabond over it.

I dumped my 270ah battleborn and had 2 redodo 410ah installed by my solar guy recently. We'll see how they work out on our annual 3 week boondocking trip to Colorado soon.

Nice video guys. Just a tip on caulking...I always used my finger and a rag, but about 10 years ago I tried baby wipes (which we've kept around the house since we starting having kids) and boy baby wipes work really good for smoothing out caulk. They're just wet enough to work well, and you toss them when they've got too much caulk on them. No cleanup. Thanks for another good one!

Just remember a battery with the low temp cutoff only cuts off charging of the battery at 32 degrees F or lower. You can still discharge them to around 0 degree F.

I have the same issue with my 2022 Cougar Fifth Wheel , I video documented the roof and talked to the dealer about my concern being the roof membrane was loose , and the checked and told me it was within the manufacturer’s tolerances🤨 , okay , hopefully it doesn’t rip right off.

Oh man, that's scary! We had an issue with the slides getting stuck, out in Rockport, TX but we've chalked it up to dirt buildup. Once we got them out with an override, we cleaned it under there by hand, then I used this 3-in-1 lubricant to coat it all. No issue since then..knock on wood! amzn.to/3QB3p8x

Another great video from you guys! Weight question if you don't mind sharing. We have a 2024 GD 337RLS which is very similar to your rig. I also have a f350 SW, and am not overweight on anything but getting close on axle and cargo specs. If I want to be prepared for adding more solar, batteries, and other stuff, I feel a f450 may be in my future. Wife totally disagrees cause our f350 is just under a year old. Its a 2023. Hey Mark! I’ll be the first to admit I haven’t done a good job in tracking this. At last check I wasn’t overweight either but I keep coming back to this mentally as we’ve changed some things in the past year and have relocated some cargo weight from the trailer to the truck. I need to hit a cat scale soon and make some comparisons for sure. I have noticed since upgrading the to the G rated Carlisle tires & adding a bike rack on the rear I did have to make some air pressure adjustments in the air bags to get it to feel like it did before. Trip to the Cat scales is on the to do list!

No. If the drums are sticky, you can usually wiggle it around until you get it off. The seal is easy, especially with a seal removal. They are inexpensive.

Your roof up in the front isn’t adhered anymore. I see bubbling. You’re ready to loose it going down the highway.

It does look that way but it looked that way when it was new. I’m not a fan, but the manufacturer claims it’s normal. My overall faith in the roof since new is about 3/10. If/when it goes, it’ll be a flex armor replacement. It’s sad a lot of us out here kind of expect them not to last. 😔
